wta: usually how long does it takes for a lcd to be faulty? and lifespan for lcd is shorter than crt right? so is there any special treatment for ur lcd to increase the lifespan?

to be faulty i think depend your luck also, for normal used what i saw is around 2 years or more, filter capacitors ( power supply board) become bulged and leaked on top.Capacitors breakdown was very common in the LCD Monitor because of it compact design where the heat have difficulty to transfer out due to the power supply board was covered by an aluminum shielding. give u the model what i already facing
Benq - 17" FP71G----inverter problem
Packacd Bell 15"--forgot model
HP 17" hp 1702---capacitor problem
Acer AL1717----capacitor problem
benq 17" T705....inverter problem

Also depend how many hours/day you use it...better switch off when u leave it. biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

alamak, quiet scary.. i gonna change my samsung 793df with samsung 943bwx. that crt i use it for 3 years+ oredi, wonder how long 943bwx can hold on.
any comment regarding 943bwx? is this lcd good enough?
also, if i frequently switch onn/off, will this make lcd become faulty faster?

I'm looking for a lcd monitor:

1) 22 inch and above
2) below RM 1000
3) has audio input and output or with speaker (so I don't have to search for a splitter to connect from my xbox to speaker)
4) decent image quality
5) RGB input (optional)

I hope u guys can recommend any since I'm not sure which one to buy. I'm going to use it for my game console and pc icon_question.gif smile.gif
