after reading this review as well as Newegg user reviews, i'm a bit worried about the quality of this lcd, although its only RM999 (chepest 24 incher) shocking.gif

Imo its cheaper coz it doesn't have HDCP, considering its one of the few 24" lcd monitor that doesn't have HDCP sweat.gif

hey guys,

I'm using a 22" ASUS VK222H LCD monitor. which is a pretty good deal if you ask me, for RM1k, you get...

Got some issues I wanna ask...

When watching DVDs or AVI movies/tv series, there's some 'colorful noise' on screen. When playing some games at 1680x1050 resolution, I get some abnormalities. Is this due to the graphic card? Currently using an old AGP 6800GT on my old AMD Athlon XP machine...

Possible source of the problems (from most likely to least likely)...

- overheating GPU
- power supply not enough..
- failing (or about to fail) GPU
- bad caps on mobo (especially near the AGP slot)
- driver issues

saw RM999 on czone pricelist. is the picture quality better than HP w2207h? these 2 are the only 22 incher with HDMI at about RM1k price range.

why don't you try to hook it up on another pc?

what's "bad caps" on mobo?
I downloaded the latest driver some few months back from nVidia so doubt that's the issue.

Thanks man.

Guys, i just read through the last few pages and still cant find a solid answer for my question.

Basically, I am using Dell 2407WFP HC now and just got myself a 2408WFP. So I am wondering is it a good upgrade? Other that more input (Display port and so on), I dont see anything outstanding about 2408wfp and I cant find a good/solid comparision on the net. I would like to listen constructive comment. Thanks.

I can always return it. No point keeping it if its aint up to my expectation.

Thanks for the links, I went and got myself a 226BW today. They've removed the "A" "S" and "C" from the sticker behind. The service menu states my panel is a "* X-xxxxxxxDx-xxxx: CMO panel".

I've realised today, while looking at a bunch of monitors, that they all pretty much look the same to me and i don't have the eye to pick out fine details, especially if i'm trying to shoot someone, so i guess this monitor will do nicely.

I had a nvidia driver about 4/5 months old... my new lcd monitor didn't work until I downloaded the recent driver. Can try that.

irangan, 2408 has better colour gamut at 110% if not mistaken, 2407 only 92% but hardly noticeble if you do not compare it directly when doing some photgraphy printout colour check.

Apart the HDMI connector and slightly better looking, basically not much difference between the 2, some said with HDMI connect it will give more vivid colour or something.

No matter whether its 19" or 22", the DVI connection will always give the better image. brows.gif

HDMI is really a DVI connection with HDCP, just different connector. That's why you can find DVI to HDMI adapters. Thus there shouldn't be any image differences. wink.gif
