QUOTE(lex @ Jul 2 2008, 02:38 PM) looks like 226BW is only RM899 at PCZone. do i have to bundle it with other hardware? marketing strategy? the current stock are A or S or C? is 226BW better than the newer 2253BW? after reading a few forum user comments, people are complaining about the blue tint and poor light bleeding of 2253BW. any LYN user comments? Where can I find the Acer AL2416W for less than RM1000? is this a better choice than sammy 226BW/2253BW? i'm using it mainly for movies.

QUOTE(lex @ Jul 2 2008, 05:29 PM) Hard to tell whether its A, S or C panels.. Have to look at the label on the monitor, as pointed out in the links I've posted. My bad.. it wasn't AL2416W... Re-checked, it was AL2423WD (has VGA+DVI)... saw one on display at Sri Computers. This monitor is NOT a TN panel, you can check it yourself.. Clue, there were no characteristic darkening when viewed from below as in TN panels... great viewing angles too. That was the display model... according to the price list, this model is AL2423WD, donno if its the same one or not... after reading this review as well as Newegg user reviews, i'm a bit worried about the quality of this lcd, although its only RM999 (chepest 24 incher) QUOTE There are many reported problems with the internal electronics of the monitor. When hooked up through DVI the monitor is said to have some 'No Input' issues, where the monitor will be connected and receiving a signal, but it will display the 'No Input' message. This little glitch requires a hard reboot of the monitor. The screen itself gets warm, some have even reported the monitor overheating. The monitor has a very strange anti-glare coating, it doesn't give the screen door effect like a lot of monitors, but it does have an odd shimmering This post has been edited by Skylinestar: Jul 2 2008, 06:53 PM

When watching DVDs or AVI movies/tv series, there's some 'colorful noise' on screen. When playing some games at 1680x1050 resolution, I get some abnormalities. Is this due to the graphic card? Currently using an old AGP 6800GT on my old AMD Athlon XP machine... saw RM999 on czone pricelist. is the picture quality better than HP w2207h? these 2 are the only 22 incher with HDMI at about RM1k price range. why don't you try to hook it up on another pc? But saw somebody selling HP L2208W. Hard to find info about this monitor, seems like a new model I guess? I wonder how this compare to HP W2207h. It has 16.7mil colours, based on spec la. HP L2208W only has VGA input

QUOTE(Idzm @ Jul 10 2008, 03:44 PM) Then what if the LCD have HDMI Port & also HDCP enabled? meaning the DVI port is equivalent to HDMI and have HDMI Port to use? sorry a bit confuse here. Mind to elaborate more? if it comes with both HDMI and DVI, you can use DVI for your PC...and HDMI for other device such as PS3. if your graphic card has HDMI, you can just connect to HDMI capable lcd using HDMI cable. it's just different type of input to your lcd.

i've always hate 16:10 display. even though it's wide, it's NOT suitable for movies. finally, 16:9 pc lcd has emerged. . (although we still get the black bars in 2.35:1 films, at least the bars are smaller now) i'm sure by next year, more pc lcd will be in 16:9.
