colabear, did u OC anything from your system to get that 3dmark score

Tried Q9550(E0) and clocked it to 4ghz and benched with 3dmarks06 (Currently on P5Q Deluxe while my Rampage is resting)

i check my 4870x2 with gpu-z
first gpu show 12.0Gpixel/s of pixel fillrate
                    30.0GTexel/s of texture fillrate
second gpu show 8.1Gpixel/s of pixel fillrate
                          20.3GTexel/s of texture fillrate
both r different,is it normal?

Quick question for you guys with the 4870X2. What heatsink/coolers work with the card? Since I've heard that the Russian government is considering using the cards as room heaters throughout their nation.

if u know about 3870x2, it goes the same for 4870x2...3rd party manufacturers are too lazy to design 1 for x2 cards

Not a joke, just implying that the card runs hot in an unconventional manner. I don't know much about ATI, because I've never had one of their cards before. But thanks for the answer.

guys. Do u think 700WATT Cool Master Realpower should be enough to run 4870x2 ?

RAM :2x Kingston DDR2 KVR800 RAM
Graphic Card :MSI 9800GTX (Non - Overclock) - currently using
Motherboard :MSI MS7512 Platinum(CF)
PSU :Cooler master-Real Power Plus 700wat
OS : Window XP SP2

The new ati HD 4870X2 is a good card and probably edges the Nvidia G280 a bit.

But think about it. The Nvidia is a single card, whereas the Ati is basically 2 cards into 1 because it is doing cross fire internally.

What this means is, it will require more driver support in order to make use of the Ati 2 GPUs for games ....

This is why although the ATI is good, i just don't trust driver support to last as long as i would like ..... which is why i am more inclinded towards the Nvidia G280 now that prices have become more reasonably and competitive once Ati brought out their card.

However for me i have a Nvidia 8800 GTS, so i don't feel it is yet the right time for me to upgrade because DirectX11 is coming soon ? Also the performance increase i don't think is that much with the current latest graphics cards.

The only benefit is Crysis would be playable if i used either the new ATI or Nvidia at high settings on a 1900x1200 resolution on my 24'' monitor.

I prefer to wait as well to see Nvidia's next generation graphics card to out compete the ATI since they've gained the upper hand by a bit in delivering a better competitive product.

Sooner Than You Think
While the final bits for DirectX 11 are targeted to ship with the first version of Windows 7, Microsoft will be delivering a preview version of the API as early as November, 2008. At that time, we'll have a better gauge of which features will actually make the cut. But we won't get a full picture until the Windows 7 timeframe, which is likely to be sometime in 2010 (though betas may appear in 2009).
