the problem is.. does this 4870x2 inherits the temp issues from the 3870?

idle at 68-70C at typical malaysian temp??? anyone?

that what i got from my 3870x2...

does the 2 gpu on this 4870x2 shares the same common memory pool or both have independent memory for rendering?

eg. meaning 512MB for each GPU does not mean it has total 1GB effective memory, coz contents is duplicated for both gpu memory sets.

or... 1GB memory shared by 2 GPU?

or.. its just a myth.. can could onli come out in R800?? LOL

the problem is their mainstream parts perform very competitively to nvidia's high-end parts!!!

Then go for HD 4870 X2 lor.Its a single card but have 2 Die instead of 9800GX2 which has 2 Card. Each card has its each die.

4870x2 is a nice product.. but until they rectify the fan speed/control/heat issue.. i won be buying it..

my experience with 3870x2 is not that pleasant

Hmm with heatpipes..I wonder how it would perform.
*
the heatpipe compensates for the increased transistor density..

so.. the temp delta i presume will be similar to 3870's heatsink

Havent Got Info About CrossFire 4870x2 Power Consumption?

But Single 4870x2 448Watt.

If Times 2 Mean 900Watt +/- ? doh.gif
*
that 448watts i assume is the power consumption of the entire system ler

i check my 4870x2 with gpu-z
first gpu show 12.0Gpixel/s of pixel fillrate
                    30.0GTexel/s of texture fillrate
second gpu show 8.1Gpixel/s of pixel fillrate
                          20.3GTexel/s of texture fillrate
both r different,is it normal?

most likely the higher ones are the master GPU which drives your display... while the lower ones are the slave GPU

U sure it is compatible with 4870x2?

If refer to amd compatibility chart, it can't even hybrid cf with 4850
*
then .. its more like ..

partial hybrid...

the 780GX uses a HD3300 GPU... and its different generation alltogether... even if compared to low end HD4000 series
