U sure it is compatible with 4870x2?
If refer to amd compatibility chart, it can't even hybrid cf with 4850

hybrid cross fire only work on lower range of GPU if not mistaken for current generation of 4xxx series, so u will need 4670 or so to get it work

QUOTE(aLWAYStHEsAME @ Oct 9 2008, 11:40 AM) U sure it is compatible with 4870x2? If refer to amd compatibility chart, it can't even hybrid cf with 4850 then .. its more like .. partial hybrid... the 780GX uses a HD3300 GPU... and its different generation alltogether... even if compared to low end HD4000 series This post has been edited by jinaun: Oct 9 2008, 11:43 AM

but i think mostly games not support well at CFX mode. this is why not much ppl wanna spend extra money on it.
just hope new driver will improve it. personally i'm interesting to get another 4870x2 to do CFX

Crossfire only allows those with the same graphic core to crossfire. So 4850 can crossfire with 4870 bla bla bla. 780gx GPU does not have the same GPU core as 4870 so you can't.
Oh and, you don't need to have the same clock on each gpu for crossfire, only the core. You still need the drivers to mature though.
