Does your E71 fail to download video clips that are in .mpg format?



Mine displays message "Not supported". I recall that in the E61, even when the phone didn't recognise the format, it allows one to save the link to the clip. No such option in the E71 though.


any ideas on how to overcome this issue?



The E71 can download .wmv files but dunno where the heck it saved it to...used Y-Browser to trawl but can't find it. is it because it's invisible to the phone if it doesn't understand the format?

For quickoffice v5.0, can edit MSOffice2007. Some of us got it at USD1....

But E71 default come with v4.5, can edit also..but Not on MS Office 2007 file format according to this comparison:

bought the phone 2day for my wife, N71 White came with
4gb card and the other normal stuff...she is extremely happy with it..

really thinking of getting this phone, will be my first time with a qwerty phone and all. But what in the world is an avaxx, zitron, sapura set..i know whats an AP set but whats the other 3?

i did a small comparison...

my 5310(d music express series)

my e71...

same song..same earphone(AKG)..same settings..

it sounded better on d e71..i was hoping d other way round..if only e71 had a 3.5mm jack...without d earphone(using the speaker),d music express is d clear winner...

I wonder if it's easy to type sms with one hand with this phone. Ex: While driving (I know it's not safe but sometimes need to do it once a while....hehe)

Nop, although it is possible but I do not think it is easy, especially while driving).

Hi guys

Just bought an original E71 for my girlfriend a few days ago and overall quite impressed with the phone.

One major problem though, I can't seem to get the Maxis 3G working. I keep getting the "Data packet not allowed" or something like that. The funny thing is that I can make and receive video calls and operate WLAN with no probs.

I'm currrently using a Nokia E66 (which works perfectly with 3G) and have replicated all the settings on the E71 to follow my E66 but I still keep getting that error message. I've had a look through the forum and noted the APN setting tweak but I can't seem to find it on the E71.

Could something be wrong with my phone? Or am I just dumb? Help me gurus ... please.

try this
1) 3G Activated? U need to call 123 and ask operator to do it
2) Correct 3G profile setting selected? Call 123 again and ask them to send U a 3G setting sms specifically for E71. Follow the instructions once U got the sms.

I'm just afraid that something's wrong with the phone.

I using maxis and with 3g activated...no problem at all.

U might want to check yr E71 by open up the casing and batt..check for the label. See got E71-1 on the label

guys, i tried downloading softwares for my phone, the thing is, most of the time, it will promt me to select my phone model... and nokia E-71 is not in the list.... the closest is nokia E-70... should i be optioning for E-70 softwares then? thanks and can someone give me the link to Opera Mini... and there is these 2 files...

1st is XXXXX.jad
2nd is XXXXX.jar

should i install both? i'm confused

Its better you install from your phone internet browser...just open the nokia internet browser,then type Opera Mini download..it'll led you straight to the file that you should download...

hi all,

Today my phone got problem. Pls advice.
I made a call and could not disconnect or hang up, what could be the problem? What i did was off and on the phone again.
I am surfing lowyat.net now on my phone with WIFI from a hotel lobby, but why the top left hand corner indication indicated 3G instead?

The calling problem is happening always or just occasionally? Is is just some software glitch I guess. Not to worry unless it happens always.

When you connect, does it ask which access do you want to use? & do you select search WLAN? If no, then when the phone connects, just look at the screen to see which access point it is using. If it uses your network to connect, then u have to go to settings > & set "always ask" for access point.

Usually your phone will show "3G" on the top left. If you see "3G" with some arrow under it, then it is using 3G instead of WLAN
