Depends on your preference.
It's a perfect phone for me due to:
1. I have a DSC-T2/W camera all the time (to compensate E71's so-so camera)
2. I have PSP and NDSL all the time (to compensate E71's lacking gaming arena)
3. I text a lot! (300smses per day combination of sending and receiving)
4. I stay with Wi-Fi anywhere I go. (Free web browsing with ease, and it's the fastest phone I come across at low low price range)
5. It's an advance phone, but it is so FAST! (Yea, try any smartphone and you'll tell, again, same price range comparison)

I charged with 350w charger (which is wrong, but it doesn't hurt, only took more time)
Never fiddle with Firmware.
Installed apps all along after acquisition, no rush.
Use until 1 bar. Sometime used until got time for a quick charge, just charge and pick it up once full.

Oh, my super 1st mission with E71, buying a screen filter and a leather case. (RM48 total, I know I'm conned.)
Cheers. And hope you'll join the club soon. rclxms.gif

May I know the things to-do for the new E71? like charge first, update firmware, install apps, use it until low battery, and etc etc etc??

I had never used an advance phone before and Im thinking of buying an E71, I hope its a good choice for long term usage.

Yea, I think it is much more reasonable now. Compared to the scary fast-drain behavior. Thanks a lot a lot!!! You da man!

Hey, Hi... I think that's a good choice and a good bargain... Where did you buy it?
I am gonna kick up the shops on Tuesday to get myself one of this. Please do recommend a good place to by in terms of quality (most importantly) and value. AVAXX I believe is pretty safe right?

Here's another piece of recommendation. Try N85 or the upcoming C905. Frankly speaking, I don't have good impressions of the N96 and because it is only my impression, you should get yours buy checking out some online forums and the forum here. It is slow at some tasks and not really stable. The C902 however fairs better but the small screen is a complete deal breaker when it comes to a camera feature phone. I would opt for the C905 since it has a larger screen AND it has WIFI and GPS. The only down point is, it has no front facing camera. Again, you don't need it because your business phone, the E71 already have it covered.

This is my 4th day owning this phone. Today I noticed that the left and right soft keys are making a squeaking sound like *ek* *ek* like that when I press them. Anyone else having this problem? It's like there's friction when I press those buttons. But this thing is still new!

I also noticed that when I pressed the left/right softkey towards the center, the key including the D-pad moves inwards and outwards. As if the glue is loose or something sad.gif

Oh ho! Thanks for the feedback!!! (Whao, I didn't knew you had a review regarding invisible shield.) Guess it is for people that is extra careful. Not me.

Ha ha ha ha ha, poor SE losing a big bunch there.

Added on November 28, 2008, 7:18 pmMonitoring too, normally my 1 bar will disappear very soon. If it doesn't go off by midnight tonight, then ... it's a miracle! (Bleh ... it's just that me who didn't read the garmin manual as mentioned, ha ha ha.)

I didn't really do a review but I requested some review from others LYN members who have purchased it and they have provided me some review which make me decides not to buy it. I can post the PM i received from this guys if u want.

Mine is ori set. Does the warranty cover the keypad?

You should seriously consider to check and compare it at your dealer site.
Even my APset does not face any problem like this, nor that I would allow it.
E71 is famed for having the best solid build among N phones. So ... ... your case is definitely a ... BIG PROBLEM! Ha ha ha. Just joking, get it checked and get it replaced if possible, E71 (I tested both Ori and AP) shouldn't be giving you any worries/hard time. Especially the solid soft keys smile.gif

yesterday evening got the e71, trying to syn with my pc, then suddenly the screen bottom went blur, sort of like a pixel banding issue, whereby the bottom part is blur out, cant see anything. then went back to dealer today to get it replace, to my horror, they ask me go back to the distributor, which is Avaxx....

any1 got this problem b4? y they cant just change the phone as this is clearly a manufacturing defect? and btw, any1 got experience dealing with avaxx? how long they take to rectify the problem. wink.gif wink.gif blink.gif

this is what a forummer here told me about the invisible shield. I can't name any names, else it would be bad for those ppl who buy it from other forrumer here. Don want to stir up trouble with any seller. Here's what he said...

well, i didn't manage to stick it to the steel parts as it is too slippery.. it doesn't deserve the name invisible as it is quite thick but yet rigid.. haven't dare to scratch it yet coz of the cost.. if u really wanna buy juz ask for the screen protecter.. not worth full body coz it looks stupid pieces plastics sticking on all over ur phone..

ray, u will regret taking a SE phone. It is a flagship phone but SE, bah...... "Ada bentuk ada gaya", but no 'isi' and quality. I used w810i before, my sister a w580i user, my mother a w910i user, my brother a p990i user, and my gf a z550i user.....

but now, I use E71, my sister uses iphone, my mom use Nk6300, and my brother uses N95, and my gf is anticipating a Moto Pebl/Rokr u9..... need i say more?

well, maybe u can check around first before deciding to buy, I'm sure a lot of ppl will come up with a comparison table and review of the X1 compare to the E71 sooner rather than later.
*
I used to think like you, and that explains why I haven't been using a SE phone since the K800i. But things have changed since I held the X1. I too was skeptical about the X1 until I actually held the actual unit. Seeing it in pictures does not justify anything. Try the real thing, and you might have a heart change. tongue.gif

The X1, is a different league compared to other SE phones. Being the 1st SE phone powered by WM6.1 is already a very good thing, as we know, it has one of the largest library of applications and is comparable to Symbian S60's collection of softwares. And if you're a QWERTY keyboard fan, you would appreciate the curve of the keyboard, which makes typing and reading the things you type, a little easier. smile.gif Never have I been so satisfied with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, having previously used devices like the Dopod 838 Pro, HTC TyTN II. Though I haven't used the HTC Touch Pro, but I've compared it side by side when buying the X1. The shop owner was kind enough to let me play with both. The HTC Touch Pro was thicker, heavier, and the space between each of the QWERTY keyboard is almost non-existent, as opposed to the X1, which has a lot of space between each key, and that alone makes typing a lot easier on the X1. smile.gif

Not trying to promote the X1 in a E71 thread, I just want to share with some out there who are choosing between the E71 and X1.

notworthy.gif Thanks a lot! This should really be enough. (And yeah, business is at risk here if this is 'named'. Understood!)
