Nice places. Haven't been to Cardiff, which I heard is quite nice.

Cardiff is a nice place to live, cheap and peaceful. Dont quite like its law building though. Actually, Oxford's buildings are nicer. Hahaha

I'm applying to UOL to do LLB myself. Can I know what are the requirements for English? Can I just upload my MUET results? that was like 5 years ago. I got a degree by the way. is that enough to prove that I'm proficient in English?

In addition, they require us to send them the original certificates of all the documents we uploaded? or the certified copies by ONLY BAC /ATC colleges? A little confused there. can somebody with experience in this help?

Thanks.

From the way JHong found out I think he could guess who I am. But let's keep it a secret.

I'm based overseas.

If it's fake, they can always fake it with a serial number. The only way is to confirm with UOL.

Or try asking for the academic transcript. Though I bet even that can be faked.

An authentic certificate comes with some security features like watermark, hologram and etc if you know the way to assess it.

There's a good chance that they can do all these.

On another note, we know that real degree certs are printed on cheap-looking A4 papers. If the paper quality is too good, then maybe it's a fake.

yes. i had a photo of the real cert from UOL and it has a colorless common seal in the MIDDLE of the cert. other than this, there are nothing else as i would have expected, such as the serial number. so sad to see this!!!

yes sir. common seal and transcript can be easily faked at printer shops.

the true story of mine:-
one senior lecturer cum ceo produced his photocopy of UOL LLB(hons) third class cert. i cant see the common seal mark on it. his used his arrogance and bullying style to sack many great lecturers within few months of his appointment. so sad. UOL replied to me that they would not help to verify anything other than being able to verify a student status (only with authorisation). UOL was not willing to sell me a copy of the passed list for certain years.

i was wondering if i could access UOL via alumni status to view the pass list. or, is there the pass list of students in the UOL member site? but i need a password to enter for viewing.

so sad. it took us years just to obtain a degree and years for a master and years to become a professional. now, others can simply print a cert at ease.

please, any friends here can advise me on how to further vet a LLB external degree award? please, i need help. i might be losing my job too. please.
thanks to all for reading.

Now that's a lot of firing power for a Third Class. I would have fired him myself.

If he had wanted to fake, perhaps fake a First Class? Something to think about there.

Any hint on which college this is? In KL?

hello, is there a reason for 'firing'? although i have heard much about the 3rd class (exam marks 44-49) but it is still considered as a 'valid' degree, am i right? so sorry for asking this question as i am in a finance field.

i dare not reveal the exact location of the college as i have to abide by my professional code of ethics. yes, i am in a dilemma now. still, i am angry for others being so easily faking their qualifications, and making me such a bloody fool for spending over 10 years overseas in obtaining my papers. sigh .... i am still searchiung for authorities for takoing actions.

thanks again for all who had replied.

thank you.

Law is a academically demanding subject. A senior lecturer with a Third Class is unacceptable in my opinion. He doesn't even qualify for legal practice. With the arrogance and bullying, sacking is wholly appropriate.

yes sir, i fully agreed with you here. this lecturer has been faking student records and giving out pass grades to those who have not even attended the classes, for his personal financial gain, and brining his ceo shop outside for personal uses. there is a criminal breach of trust, human trafficking and alteration of academic records. i believe this is called 'frauds'?

i have not been sleeping well for a while after getting the hard evidence.

i considered an old man myself, and at times i felt tired about all these. retreating is one of my options now. needing a good holiday.

thanks to all who are reading my concern.

Added on May 13, 2012, 5:12 pmoh yes, i forgot another issue. This person also claimed that he had a Degree in Economics from Universiti Malaya. I have highly reliable sources that claimed that he was terminated after year 1 of his strudy at Universiti Malaya.

thisngs are going really wrong here.

so sorry for lashing out my frustration. sorry ...

I dont think it is possible as of now. May i suggest you to contact the college where the third class' senior lecturer' graduated from? For example, if he/she has a UoL degree, it is very likely that he is a graduate from ATC. However, i really dont think it is worth faking a third class certificate. The certificate that i'm having doesnt have an official seal but with a signature from Vice chancellor and hologram in a watermarked thin A4 paper.

At the end, the result/performance speaks. This would produce only low quality graduates and the employers would know this, eventually. I have heard that many companies actually blacklisted 'SxxI' graduates due to the amount of atrocious students that they have produced over the years.

Better leave that place if you dont feel comfortable with it. My two cents.

To be frank, there are just too much of unethical behaviors in the education industry. Like me, i have witnessed quite a few of them. To go off a tangent abit, I personally only salute those lecturers who urge students to think rather than brainwashing to believe what he said.

So, @Academic lawyer: Malaysia needs you.

Hi jhong,
many thanks for your reply. that person claimed he took it via self-study but we shall vet it further given an opportunity. so i guess there was no such 'local' college to help in identifying the cert.

do ou mean that an ex student could not gain entry into the UOL web site for viewing the pass list? my CIMA site would show the list those days.

what we saw was a photocopy of the third class award. i was told that a photocopy would not capture the water mark nor hologram, am i right? it looks futile at this stage. sigh ...

thanks pal. thank you.

This is the reply that i have received after requeting to purchase a pass list (1995/6): -

Dear Sir/Madam

Students records and passlists are not available to the public.

Unless you would like a verification of a student, we can do this but only with authorisation.

Kind regards
