kotmj,

What you strive for is the athletic look is it?
Not the BBer type of big, but the athlete kind of muscular.

That blonde guy in your pic no traps lah. Looks like a longkang between his neck and deltoids. The gutter shoulders. =P

QUOTE(kotmj @ May 19 2009, 07:58 PM)
I find the guys in the pic above "freakish" as someone had said. My ideal physique is more along these lines:

Added on May 19, 2009, 8:00 pmThere's a normal % of bodyfat, the arms look natural, no excessive trap development, etc. Maybe a little less chest would be perfect.

Darklight would probably agree with the bodyfat thing.

Anyone care to speculate how the blonde guy's workout program might have looked like?

Added on May 19, 2009, 9:58 pm(He's probably not guilty of bicep curls.)

20 minutes of cardio, 40 minutes of weight lifting, 120 minutes on hair and makeup.

maybe he planned to look like that from day 1...some ppl wanted to have flat shoulders, so they do less shoulder training for smaller traps...quite nice imo (no homo)...

That physique is pretty good but it doesn't mean that the guy in there doesn't have mass. I can guarantee you he does lift quite heavy, for a rabbit.

I bet he can't military press an oly bar.

No shoulders looks horrible. It will look like a longkang. Instead of flat shoulders, you have caved-in ones.

And girls notice that... because I've got girls saying that they are surprised that I actually have some muscles on my trap, despite I being damn skinny and ikan-bilis-small sized.

Not that my traps are mountainous like Darklight's ones, but they are there and somewhat visible... if you squint & look reeeaaaally hard. X^D

I'm just kidding. That physique ain't really that bad but definitely not my type. Anyone can get ripped but it's not easy to pack on 5lbs of lean body mass.

I feel that there has to be a constant balancing between traps and shoulders. Overdeveloping traps to the point where they get too high will give one's physique a narrow look. So trap exercises need to be modified according to preference; eg. grip.
