Nice biggrin.gif
My idle temp use to be 30C/34C. (E7400@ 3.8ghz, 1.31v)
But now I'm using Windows 7, its 35C/39C.

It's weird though, what could W 7 have done to increase 5C on both of my cores... hmm.gif

I wish i have air con... drool.gif

u r using hyper tx2 plus a cheap casing.. which means u have bad air flow?

Added on November 3, 2009, 9:51 pmyr graphic card is a dual slot cooler or a zalman fan type? mayb the heat from GC made yr air in the casin to be warm.. lack of ventilation..

He said "....hyper tx2 plus a cheap casing....." The PMR aftermath must have gotten you all fuzzy ah bro? tongue.gif

Anyways hazairi, install another fan on that TX2... becomes twin fan thumbup.gif
Or sell it in Garage Sale and get a RM100+ HSF minimum.
C-Zone @ LYP got AC Freezer Extreme for RM149. I'm using it, 3.8Ghz idle 35C/39C (30C/34C before using Windows 7) in the hot noon. Max 59C. brows.gif (not bad for aircooling HSF)

how big is big?

in terms of cache size, E8400 is twice the E7400..

btw, tis is an OC thread.. not hardware thread.. pls proceed to Hardware Q&A if u hav any other doubt..

Currently testing a E7400 in office (Office CPU) from 2.8Ghz@3.57Ghz with 1.28V. Temp around 60c full load now with stock cooler

Using budget ASUS P5KPL-AM mobo with Kingston Value RAMs DDR667 1 GB X 2 with Hynix chips

Currently at 340Mhz FSB 4:5 ratio, RAM at 425Mhz (DDR850) 5-6-6-15 (Orthos testing)

Yupz, what to do, bored at office so play play a bit loh
Its been years since I overclocked any PC, my time was during the P4 era~~

Anyway, found out the limitation of this board

1) Cpu Vcore max 1.4V only
2) CPU and memory ratios are ballz. 667Mhz is 4:5, 800Mhz is 2:3 and 1066Mhz is 1:2, there is no freaking 1:1 ~_~
3) Limitation of the RAMs, can't post at 431.25Mhz
4) No option for turning off spread spectrum??? ~_~

So final OC which is able to post is at 343Mhz FSB X 10.5 = 3600Mhz, RAM at 429Mhz 5-6-6-15-2T (4:5)
Orthos stress testing now at 1.288 Vcore & Dram voltage set at 1.95V

Temperature at full load hovers around 58-62c, highest is 65c with stock cooler

If OC phailed, then no problem coz office property huh bro? brows.gif Those office PC's are better off to be OC'ed anyways, they'll serve better purposes that way tongue.gif
My E7400 can OC safest with stock cooler is around 3.2ghz...
Anyways a 667mhz RAM give a more versatile OC presets if OC below 3.6mhz, with guaranteed stability... but of course u need 800mhz/1066mhz if you start wanting to OC above 3.6ghz.

E7500 is RM20 more than E7400 and E7500 is 0.13ghz more than E7400, the cache is the same, dunno why intel bother to produce this chip though, but I have the slightest faith that the Vcore is lesser than E7400, (the only purpose i can think off why intel produce this chip) this one gotta google up.

Good for OC'ing?? Why not..
