Is the Propecia/Minoxidil combo mainly for MPB? I don't have MPB and it isn't obvious that I'm losing hair. But I want to  make sure that it doesn't get worse. I'm losing hair evenly. There isn't a spot in particular which is shedding way more hair than the others. Would you recommend the same formula?

Well 1st is that u shud check ur hair condition by a dermatologist (if u have the money) ...
Do u have any balding MPB relatives? If u do thn u might be a MPB sufferer ..
How old are you?

2nd is that u'll have to wait till u notice some significant hair loss...
And how is ur lifestyle?

I'm 23. I've a cousin with MPB at the age of 30+. Only one MPB sufferer to date. I eat really clean. I take multivitamins and fish oil everyday. I exercise a lot too but that has slowed down a lot in the past month since I began working.

I don't drink nor do I smoke. Sleeping late may have been a prob in the past 2 years. I don't live a stressful lifestyle (except for exam periods).

Which dermatologist would you recommend and how much would an average check up cost?

I realized that when I use wax matte or whatever they call it, I lose a lot more hair during washing. The only wax which is easy to wash off and does not result in such great loss of hair is Lucidol. What are your thoughts on this?

Well thn...i want to ask something 1st...do you lose hair only whn ur rinsing ur hair? and do you see hair or a lot of hair on your pillow whn u wake up...
Since ur cousin is also MPB sufferer its probably safe to say that its in ur gene and that anything can happen..
Oh yea smoking doesnt give a significant impact on hair loss....b4 i started smoking i lost a lot of hair so no diff...
Just a check dpnds on the dermatologist but usually cost around rm30-rm80 per check up ..... well any dermatologist is fine..
Make sure you ask a hell lot about hair loss and MPB while ur at it..
If u are confirm to be a MPB sufferer thn ask the prescription on Propecia...

It may work coz it contain Copper Peptide but its not FDA proved so it MAY work for a certain minority group..

And dude seriously Finastride rm60 per month ? sounds a lil bit too cheap if you ask me...I have my doubts on that one

I don't see A LOT of hair on my pillow when I get up in the morning. Just a few strands or sometimes nothing. I tend to lose more lately whenever I wash my hair. Not sure why though. Could be the wax.

Which dermatologist do you go to?

Welcome to the club...you are a confirmed of MPB ....well hair loss by stress ( telogen effluvium ) does not take years to develop ..
But MPB takes years n years to develop its trademark hair receding pattern ..
I suggest u go to your local dermatologist n consult him and ask him the necessary "weapon" to combat ur balding

Help!!!! Where or how to get doctor prescription for Propecia? And where do you get the cutter to split the pill?

I've been on and off on minoxidil in the passed and i've tried kirkland 5% to some unknown brand 15% minoxidil. I think i'm the minority who doesn't respond to minoxidil as my shedding didn't lessen after using it continuously for more than half year then again for few months after some break. Not only that it doesn't work for me, it gave me serious dandruff problemsss. I really mean it when i said serious, imagine having my car safety belt covered by visible and huge dandruff flakes after driving for only 30 mins. And I didn't even scratch my head at all.

Rm60 is divide by 1 pill "Proscar" . Proscar contain 5mg so you have to cut it into quater and eat. RM240 per box which can last 4months. Thats the cheapest way to get propecia. Anyway which one here would get "Rogaine" which cheaper price? I need one.

Added on October 10, 2011, 6:29 pmGo for Doctor Chen at Wisma Uoa . There's a clinic there. Any consultation is free. You can go anytimes you want with no charges at all. You can get Propecia ,minoxidil and treatment there. Depends what you want. I've back from there. A good advice for me and a very nice doctor indeed. I just plan to get Proscar in there. Minoxidil there selling Rm180. Kinda expensive.

Sorry to burst ur bubble but cutting proscar into pieces will not gives you the effect of 1mg of finastride..
Coz medically we cannot determine how many exact mg of finastride your taking...it could be the 1st piece like 3mg finastride, the 2nd piece 1 and so on so forth...it is a dangerous drug and shud be taken with precise dosage or not you guys will suffer the nasty effect of finastride..

I've been taking Proscar since 2009.
Good so far.
But other people did experience side effects.

Proscar are for prostate patients.
Kind of nuts since taking it just because it contains finastride.
But logically, it prevents/cure prostate cancer....and hopefully grow your hair back.

Conclusion = hairloss men are early symptoms of prostate cancer?

Make sense tongue.gif
But need a doctor to confirm this.

Some say to combine it with minoxidil for better results.
Proscar helps made the hair roots stronger...minoxidil let it grow.
I tried Proscar alone since 2009...not satisfying.

But planning to stop the current stock after finish.
Gonna stick to minoxidil instead.

Currently with Kirkland.
Would love to buy Rogaine Foam but only available overseas.

Good reviews on Proscar...especially here ---> http://www.hairlosstalk.com/interact/

So I urge anyone who has questions to read or ask there.

And also Country Life's Biotin and then Maxi Hair.

Ask/call any pharmacies.
Some sells Propecia without doctors prescription.

Bring em young brows.gif laugh.gif

Lucky if anyone here below 30 or below 25.

Still not too late.

Use minoxidil only for a few months.

Kirkland quite cheap and easy to get in Malaysia, IINM.
It's liquid but oily.

Rogaine...foam (buih) laugh.gif
Difficult to buy in Malaysia and pricey.

In 2007, I ordered from USA (e-vitamin) via debit card.
Three(3) bottles = RM240, IIRC.

Here I saw 1 bottle for RM100++ shocking.gif sweat.gif doh.gif

Again...if you're below 30...ACT FAST BEFORE END UP LIKE ME...too late; above 30.
