This is what my wife is using now: Biotin B-Complex Thickening Shampoo. She's not suffering hair loss, but has thin fine hair. After about 2-3 weeks notice hair a bit thicker.

anyone been to Damai Service Hospital Hair clinic? How is it? I'm trying to avoid propecia as I am scared by its effect after googling for more info. I am financial stable, and hope to get the best result without little to nil side effect. Any opinion?

Well the chances for the side effects are only 1% and anonymous people make it as if it were 100% ..don't bother bout the hype...
If you are serious bout treating your hair loss thn I suggest you take Propecia..Propecia is the only treatment that can inhibit DHT (the cause of MPB) other thn that are all snake oils ..like or not if want your hair back thn u have to take propecia...
No other way and don't believe on hair treatment center ...the only thing they want to "treat" is your money......in to their pockets ...

And I suggest you take Minoxidil/Propecia and Nizoral Shampoo 2% ( twice of 3 times a week) and if you can afford thn i suggest you take Tricomin also..

And supplements such as amino protein, biotin (very-very important) and vitamins n minerals (try to find the brand that specifically formulated for hair)
And exercise..if ur to bzy or plain lazy thn try do the scalp exercise nourishing your hair with blood that carries nutrients and oxygen biggrin.gif ...
Oh yeah use Organic shampoo...never use the commercialize shampoo coz it's filled with harsh chemicals that can kill your hair..try Avalon Biotin Shampoo which is safe for your hair..

I'm doin all these about 2 months now and less shedding and my hair is thicker..too soon to tell bout the miraculous hair regrowth but in theory my regimen is perfect ...hopefully i can see the result within 4-6 months..

Also considering laser hair comb..not sure if that thing works ..does anyone know bout the Hair Laser Comb?? Need a feedback on that comb ..

Which one?? If it's Propecia u'll need a doctor prscription..as for the minoxidil u can buy at the pharmacy but I recommend you go amazon or find some trusted dealers in lowyat community and order some minoxidil from them coz its wayy cheaper. tricomin im not sure whether they have it or not in malaysia..try ask the dealers in lowyat whther they can get it for u and u can get Nizoral 2% shampoo at ur local pharmacy..

The price of the following items are :

i) Propecia : rm150-rm200 ( Per-month )
ii) Minoxidil : rm55 - rm240 ( Per-month )
iii) Tricomin : rm120 - rm 200 ( Per-month )
iv) Nizoral Shampoo 2% : rm35 ( Last for a long time )

Personally I use Propecia, minoxidil and Nizoral 2% ...coz I thnk 3 are more thn enough ...
I bought Propecia from my local pharmacy for rm150 ( i know its cheap hahaha ) & Minoxidil for rm55 ( I bought the Kirkland Minoxidil ) & Nizoral for rm35
A month I only spnd round rm210 on drugs ..basically ..

achik1990,

Thanks so much for the detail information. I am looking for other alternative other than using drugs at the moment. The damai hospital I mentioned earlier is doing the hair transplant method. At the moment, I am at the MPB stage 2 and my current age is 30. I am looking for advise how is transplant in Malaysia and if it is suitable to do it now. I know singapore is famous, but exchange rate is killing. I am not from KL, so would like to do some research first before making a trip there. any idea?

well I've experienced a lot shedding whn using minoxidil (im on my 3rd month now) i only started using propecia round 2 weeks ago and also shed some hair...seems that taking propecia also cause me to shed hair...

I have seen some hair starting to grow on my frontal part...and my hair is thicker now..i have to wait round 3 or 6 more months b4 any significant improvement shows up...though i still have this bad habit on smoking hahahaha xD...
But I've searched on the internet that smoking does not impact my hair loss that much and so do masturbation haahaha xD ...
Its a good start :3 ..im only at stage 2 i thnk i can save my hair

If ur on stage 2 I would recommend u to use Propecia,Minoxidil and Nizoral since its too early for you to do the hair transplant..
And even if u intend to do the transplant ..u will have to take propecia 1st ...coz ur transplanted hair will die if u dont take propecia..

Bottom line is Propecia and minoxidil .... is the best combo ever

Added on October 3, 2011, 9:21 pmI'll take a pic and see my progress ...
hopefully I'll see some improvements..
But 1 thing for sure the hair that grew back is thicker but the texture is different kinda like "dawai" hahaha xD But its healthy and thick no complain bout that

Is the Propecia/Minoxidil combo mainly for MPB? I don't have MPB and it isn't obvious that I'm losing hair. But I want to make sure that it doesn't get worse. I'm losing hair evenly. There isn't a spot in particular which is shedding way more hair than the others. Would you recommend the same formula?
