Hey does anyone encounter the situation where when you are depositing your money halfway the machine fails and display "out of service" message? Just wondering what would be the consequences?

then the next working hour, you need report to maybank ... or they will have a record who the last person use it when the machine stuck ... and will bank in the money for u automatically ...

My case was with the ATM machine. I tried to withdraw the $$ but no $$ was coming out from the machine but the receipt showed that the $$ was out I went to Maybank and they took around 3 weeks to settle for me.

Even if that happens, make sure you keep the receipt (if any) in order to report to the authority. If not, just make sure your face appears clearly in their CCTV, lolz.

It sucks big time because the cash deposit machines always out of service on the 1st or 2nd day of the month. But thank God there's m2u

it happened to my friend, by 6am he wants to deposit the money who knows after he put in his money and appear OUT OF SERVICE. He just went back and couldnt sleep and waited until working hour then go make report

there is an emergency number that you supposed to call when this thing happened.
the number is printed on maybank's atm card.
it happened to me twice, once with atm machine and another with the cheque deposite machine.
i call the number on both ocassion and the officer in charge is kind enough to get back to me the very next working day to confirm and ask me to proceed with the report.
maybank credited the atm's one after 15 working days while the one with the deposite machine i get beck within 3 working days.
just make sure you reported the incident a.s.a.p to maybank to avoid misunderstanding.

last time i have this thinking tht, if something really happened, point to the CCTV... see my face, ur machince got problems.... it's better call on the spot, in front of Machine, then u got the CCTV record n tele-communication record at the same time.

I went to bank to make report on next working day morning.
The money credit back to my account in the afternoon.

if halfway, maybank will refund the money (mostly will credit it back to ur acc)
if all the money is already in the CDM, and later it gets stuck, maybank will help u deposit the money to the recipient acc..
not the CDM machine didnt pass their QC, but mostly it gets stuck because some people deposit RM5 note, the note is in bad condition, etc. then will only the machine get stuck..

I experienced once.. I was depositing money..and suddenly it appear out of service..and my money jammed half way.. no receipt and no money refund. I quickly call maybank operator.. and it took me 10 minutes for someone to answer my call. Maybank staff really $ux.. They recorded my name and details..then next day, i went to bank again to take back the money. Scary Maybank Deposit Machine. It cannot accept large amount of money notes, better separate into few times to deposit, other wise it gets jammed again!!!!

Well I called Maybank in the afternoon yesterday and confirm with them that my money is stuck. They claim that the case is pending investigation and will return as soon as possible to me. I wonder how long will the investigation take?

Some of the posts mentioned half a day while some 3 working days.

My experience, I had 30k to bank in and the counters had more than 10ppl queuing. So decided to go for machine and divided cash to 4 parts. 1st and 2nd no problem, but 3rd part the machine took the money and showed me that I have ZERO 0.00 balance. Luckily it still shows the amount that I put into the machine. I did it during office hours and quickly find the bank manager. The amount was credited to my account the same day but after office hours. The officer told me it happens once a while.

I face that one as well. Luckily is day time, i yell for the pak cik guard. ask him call officer come...then settle. Lucky is not night time

haiz..sunday i got for deposit rm900...there got 4 machine..3 machine got ppl use so i use the last machine..at 1st nothing 1 still can heard de sound counting money wit de machine..but..suddenly my card jump out n de screen show out of service...suck..then i phone de number show at backside of my atm card..operator say tat our number is change to 1300-88-6688...$uck..after tat de operater told me tat need take report at same bank when monday lor..make me whole night cant sleep n need to ponteng school to do it asap...now going to de bank do report liao lor...
nex time not dare do it during non-working hour edi..

i encounteres it once with CIMB CDM Machine..if that situation arises..you need to call the 24 hour hotline no priveded immediately and informed them on the amount and branch you are in..they will then raise a complaint to the particular branch.u have to go over to the branch the next day to sign a complaint form..it takes 3 working days for them to credit the money back into the account you were suppose to credit..the CDM machine leaves a trail on every person using it and the last person who got his/her money stuck...the acc no you keyed in will also be showed together. your money will be save but the sad part is it will be another 3 days before you get it back...if the CDM machine is outsourced to a secuirty firm..then it will take a little longer..

wow..lucky maybank working fast..juz now i go to de branch..they start to repair de machine...but i go to de office..i see many complain de paper lor..look like every day also will stuck de lor cuz i see many form still pending n le de money 1 packet 1 packet ane de lor...she told me will be bank in for me b4 11 am lor

i kena once in bangsa maybank lucky that is during office hour, just fill in the form and get the money back in one or two day .... they never charge but i kena charge once cause the ATM eat my card ........

Always maybank only have system down cases at most of time

If the machine did not return u ur cash, dont worry juz call the customer sercive. there's some journal/log inside the machine itself although ur trxn might not reached the host. anyway a piece of advise is dont do trxn near midnight, coz normally thats the time when the ATMs and CDMs will go out of service for batch maintenance job

When u have the largest no of ATM in the country with 6 million cardholders not including other comercial bank card holders who would frequent MBB ATM bcos of availability, then u r bound to have more downtime. But if u compared the no of MBB ATM against other commercial banks versus the no of withdrawals, then the downtime at MBB is the lowest among all.

PBB's CDM is copied from MBB as MBB were the 1st to use this type of CDM. Again, refer to the above to understand the problem.

hahah.. be warned.. your money will be the dinner party money for the 'pak guard' when they come and do the routine collection pickup at the ATM.

better report quickly.. or you have no case against the bank..

You need to file up a form & submit to them, normally end of the day you should get the money back to your account.
Check with the officer, no customer is small customer... Scold them if you have to

i already do the report and filled the form....but it seems they are not taking it seriously....

Just relax and check your account balance everyday. Normally it will take the bank 2-3 business days to check and investigate your case. However, please post here if you encounter any "charges" from the bank to solve this issue for you.

This has happened to me personally. Halfway through the "counting money" sound, the machine just jammed & error.

Called up the bank, an officer came over and gave me a cash deposit form to fill up, then I left. Before end-of-day they already credited the money into my account.

easiest way, go to the branch tomorrow and meet the manager in person.
tell them if they still didn't give you a reasonable reason you will complain to bank negara.
this is enough to scare them out.
as what they do is unreasonable, the reasonable waiting period should be 2-3 working days.

If you withdraw cash; no money comes out but the receipt deduct your balance....

That's just because the chip on the card isn't clean, clean it with something
like your clothes and eraser and the original balance will return. This happen quite frequently.

How does a dirty chip result in money not coming out of the machine? Thats is a pretty weird error.

i experienced the same case too, the receipt shows money withdrew but in actual nothing come out.
luckily Maybank credit the amount back to my account automatically even before i made a complain.
probably the chip can only verify my status but can't send or receive to command to withdraw money due to some residue on it that causes it unreadable.

Everytime I experienced something, it's sure a weird thing..

I have experienced my money getting stuck in the machine before. This was at Maybank Plaza Damansara. It was a Sunday. This is a very problematic machine and it always has difficulty recognising notes. I heard a funny clicking sound and the message 'maaf, masalah teknikal' or something came up. Immediately called CS and they credited my account in 1 week.

The last time I see they were using Windows 98

i think if anything happen , better face to the CCTV to let them recognise..

Dang..looks like there's alot of complain over Maybank. I personally experience few problems with them but just one problem makes me happy.

Months ago, I think someone bank in RM100 and leave it in the box and the ATM keep on alarm. So I go and see what happened as no one ever cares what's with that Machine. RM100 FOC.

for me, citibank deposit machines is the most lousy one.
coz everytime when i want to bank in for my credit card payment, i have to try many times to insert the bank note.
they should upgrade their machine. like hongleong bank anc cimb is better than them

I saw once.The person infront of me.He deposit half way suddenly blackout.After that straight away out of service.I still remember it was on Sat.He needs to wait till Mon only can report to Maybank.Same branch.

I am having a big troble here, I cash deposited 2350 in usj21 petronas maybank kiosk in the evening, when the kiosk is counting the money suddenly blackout then turn to the main screen. immediately i call he customer service to report, after 7 working day the bank told me the journal can't find any fact from the kiosk that I have cash deposited.. I stunned!!!! very panic now... is my money just gone like that? report police and faxed to maybank HQ hope can be resolve. the funny thing is the bank officer told me within the 7days investigation they didn't check the cctv... anybody can help me from here?

My wife have similar situation, counting on the halfway then showing the screen the machine is unavailable to use now.

After 3 days still no response from bank and call to find the same customer service, but unable to reach her. who know she didnt create report for it and claimed the report system was down that time.

My wife very angry and insist want her to apologize or she will complaint to her supervisor. The another CS tried to apologize for her at beginning but my wife insist herself to apologize. At the end she called and apologize. Our case was settle next few days and get the full money bank in.

What you could probably do is to contact the relevant bank authorities and inform them about the incident. They will lodge a report with you and investigate the matter. All the best to you and hope you recover the amount you banked in.

what is the day and time u bank in the money? usually this happened weekend or night time.

No specific time for your reference about this matter, but it's a random event.

Haha really? Your brother must be hoping that at some point or at some time, the machine will operate back by itself.
Every CDM has one unique identity, just inform the bank and they will have the machine disable for investigation purposes.

I'm one of the victim. On 15th September i went Uptown Damansara's Maybank to cash deposit into my own account. The machine took around 3 - 4 minutes to print out the receipt.
Unfortunately, i lost the receipt already..and after 1 day i check on my account only i realize the transaction is not updated into my account. Straight away called the customer service, that CS said will create a report for me,
ask me to wait 7 working days to process. After 7 working days, called back and check. They said they cannot find my transaction / record. Decided not to waste time with those stupid CS over phone. ( waited 5-10 mins to get connected ). Walk in to the bank itself, an officer ask me to fill in a form and sign. She said by Thursday will deposit my money back to my account. Check my account justnow, still the same, nothing!
Any advise of what other options left? Will walk in again in the morning to harass them..In fact, I will harass them every single day till they give me back my money.

ask the staff check the cctv the day u use ur cash deposit machine....maybe u can settle ur prob

escalation to the manager is the best way. ask for extreme fast respond as this has been ongoing for so long.

if you want to go to the extreme, ask for CCTV recording on the day you deposit the money, ask for all the transaction for that machine that you used.

well, i guess they will do all this even though u're not requesting, just that they're slow in responding since they have millions of transaction in a day. just make sure you escalate this as far as it goes.
