Teo is that ur Qubeley can post bigger picture?

Dante you can just get satay stick & blutak. Works better than clips.

But seriously the satay stick i bought, when i open it i can smell the smell that makes me feel bad, not it's stinky but i think some chemical stuff they use. Need to think twice now eating Satays.

Right now what's the shinniest metallic color available? I've got hold of a Mr.Metal Color chrome haven't tested it yet, but the ones one Teo's Qubeley seems pretty shinny.

the silver i used is just normal mr.color silver.
metallic color got many brand and range.

don't talk about diff shades of metal, just talk about "shine" and "reflectivity"
u want super "shine/bright" silver, get mr. color "super silver" but i forgot the number. HHQ got.
u want "reflective" silver/chrome, get alclad II, from HHQ also.
other things of metallic color will be the color, hue and depth of the "metal".
some can see the bintik-bintik particles, some very very fine..
that's too many rclxub.gif

i got a noob question here, if i use Mr.Surfacer paint my model(without airbrush my model), will the surface look different?

another question is if i use the Topcoat flat-type, will the model surface look different??

dont really get what u mean.

u put something on a surface, of course the surface will look different from it's original form. Even u put some candle wax on your model, it will look different too.

Be more specific.

surfacer does manage to cover very minor scratches (like those caused by fine sandpaper). But judging from the photo, i believe no surfacer has been applied.

Yes flat coating does helps to "hide" (note: not "cover") some imperfection on the surface. This is because of the micro particles appeared in flat coat. So our eyes/vision is being distracted to focus on the flat surface created by these particles instead of those minor scratches.

It is more like illusion. If u look close enough, u might still be able to see those scratches. but normally people dont do that.

However, since flat coating only "hide", but not "cover", so dont rely on it to make the mistakes to vanish.

However, 1 note, if u r doing a flat finished kit, your surface treatment do not need to be as perfect as u r doing a gloss.

Some call it "curi ayam" but i see it as save of time. meaning, unlike i m doing a gloss finish, when i m doing flat finish, i saw some minor imperfection on the surface, i dont strip the paint and redo it; coz i know for very minor mistakes, flat coat is able to hide them.

Just for very minor scratches.

hahaha... when i read bro ray's comment sure the fella gonna sweat reading it sweat.gif

in short, if u want turn ur surface finishing flat just spray with flat topcoat, it will turn something like the pic u posted.
surfacer will not directly affecting ur surface finishing, coz it's just a base paint.

Hi All!

I jz bought a MG Strike Freedom, am thinking to repaint the gold inner frame. It doesn't look good at all.
I dont have air brush, in fact, i'm new to gunpla.
I have been researching for the gold spray can that can produce the similar result as the gold plated inner frame of Strike Freedom Full Burst Mode.

Can anyone recommend any?
If you have done the similar, can post pic If possible.

Thanks you very much!

Uh oh, chrome wars anyone? laugh.gif
The gold plated inner frame bits unfortunately cannot be replicated 100%. We had a bit of a war of words regarding this a while back and iirc the conclusion was that no matter how hard you polish 'chrome gold from a bottle/spray' it will still look different. Better than the shitty yellow gold colour of the runner, but not as bling as the chrome.

how about the gold used by keita's white SF (http://f7.aaa.livedoor.jp/~mesarion/gallery/wsfm/wsfm.htm)

Does champagne gold spray can + semi-gloss top coat produce anything close?

i'm no chrome nor gold expert.
i would say similar for a laymen's eye, but seriesly nothing close to it.
try it yourself on some other scrap plastic to see if u would please yourself with the effect.

i think keita custom mixed that gold out. especially if you're talking abt sprayin off the can, it'll be hard to replicate any nice gold out.
