Hi All!

I jz bought a MG Strike Freedom, am thinking to repaint the gold inner frame. It doesn't look good at all.
I dont have air brush, in fact, i'm new to gunpla.
I have been researching for the gold spray can that can produce the similar result as the gold plated inner frame of Strike Freedom Full Burst Mode.

Can anyone recommend any?
If you have done the similar, can post pic If possible.

Thanks you very much!

I have the same kit and sprayed it using the Tamiya Gold paint. It does not resembles the FBM gold in any way but at least looks better than the original one smile.gif

Well, its not fully assembled yet at the moment. Just sprayed the gold parts with the Tamiya paint. About the product code, let me go back and check it for you. I remember the name is just Gold. Was looking for either Chrome Gold or Gold Leaf but couldn't seem to find it.

Regarding the pictures, will go back and post it tonight or tomorrow smile.gif

Added on April 2, 2009, 9:37 pmThese are the pictures of the Strike Freedom parts sprayed in gold as promised.

The code of the gold is TS-21 but i still feel the Gold Leaf should look nicer. smile.gif

By looking at the photo (though a bit dark) you uploaded, the gold looks not bad to me.

Appreciate your help. wink.gif

But doesn't look shinny enough. Maybe the camera?

BTW you should have cut some of the connectors before you spray as a whole. Maybe leave only 1 connector with the parts so you save effort on touching up once you cut them out.

Well, to be honest, for me, it look much better than the original yellowish gold color to me. Might not look exactly the same or as nice as the chrome gold of FBM but this is at least better than the original. smile.gif

Well, it does not look shiny. Just slight gloss. And picture is abit dark cause its taken during the night and lights on my room are abit dim. If you require a better, brighter picture, i can try it tomorrow morning though tongue.gif

Regarding the connectors, i kinda forgot about them as well when spraying tongue.gif Now, i need to get a can of those paint to touch up when assembling.

Dammit wasted so much of my time... how do i remove the paint ? Is there a way to cover it up so that it wont come off ? Oh and i tried topcoat and it didnt work...

that mr.metal series all buffable and can come off easily.
worse thing is i had it scratch on the white armor (actually not scratch, just touch only).

if topcoat oso cannot help, then no choice lor.
remove with mr.thinner dap in cotton but, slowly rub off then re-prime again lor..

now i only use it to paint/highlight certain rivets or pistons.. bad idea to use on large area.. sure kena one.. prime no prime still will tanggal one..

I think for Mr.Metal Color there's a special primer called Mr.Base Metal or something right? Looks like silver when you spray it. Don't know if it helps the metal color paint stick.

nothing to do with the primer, it's the mr.metal formula itself i guess.
if u are referring for mr. metal primer, it's transparent.
i tried topcoat oso, more than coz there's a non-scratchable layer on top, but beneath the mr.metal paint itself still give way. if u rub hard, the mr.metal + topcoat come out oso.
maybe a thick coat that covers completely the underneath mr.metal will help. but that is not my choice as well too.. sad.gif

The Gaia Bright Gold seems pretty nice. The Tester is very shinny but particles too big.

precautions are when u deal with the tiny parts... some may break easily coz fragile... becareful of the V-fin as well, dun play wiv it too much...

deacls? there's 3 types, green, blue white(transparent) background
green is like sticker type
Blue is water slides, doesnt come wiv MG(usually u'll nid to buy urself)
white is dry transfer, same like applying fake tatoo on ur body.. rub on top of it...
i this is simple to understand

Hello. I wna ask if anybody here in PJ area has red, blue and green clear paint to spare me. I just need ABIT only.

I wanted to buy the bottle but rm 10 plus per bottle quite not worth it. Plus I'm only gona use it for my 4 gundam 00s to paint the clear parts.

So yea, If any kind soul here in PJ has some to spare me I would kinda appreciate it. if you want me to pay u some money also I don't mind one. XD

THANK YOU in advance
