As the movie producer put it "Avatar is not a movie you can talk about. You have to experience it yourself."

very very true,

its made with 3D foremost in mind (read EMPIRE on JC's 'avatar' long before the movie came out)
unfortunately for me they (JC team) spend so much time in 3D development that it kinda thin out the fish from bone. (on that score even star wars had better & they edge it with 'outer world' gadgets, 'other world aliens' development)

yes to many; movie appears spectacular & yes it shd watched be in 3D. i missed it, i wasted watching it in non 3D mainly because it was bloody booked out day after day. btw this 3D was mention "mother-of-all 3D" , "groundbreaking" so it's not suppose to compare other 3D's

story to me appears ho-hum, character developement (sadly) is almost secondary, JC tried as much as he can i guess but as mentioned he spend alot of developing avatar's 3D/CGI. well, today's young moviesgoers place so much into CGI; that it places way way above evoking a spirit of proper moviedom (at least for me)

I have mentioned; go watch avatar-in-3D, there you fully understand the length that JC had bet on. (he mentioned at length in EMPIRE)

dwelling other possiblities of how they should remove the Na'vi's (gassing, digging underground), well then there is no movie then laugh.gif

pretty good movie but only cause of the 3D experience...
graphics wise, being a gamer it doesn't really amazes me much >.<

the plot is pretty thin n predictable (maybe cause the southpark parody "dancing with the smurfs" ruined it for me)...
terrans(starcraft)/gdi(C&C) vs nightelfs(warcraft just like their tree)

I watched the other day and it was wonderful. Tho the storyline isn't original, I still like it.

Does watching it in 3D makes such a big difference...? I went 3D for Journey to the Centre of the Earth and it was a waste of money mad.gif so I never thought of going 3D with Avatar. I heard that it took JC 12years to develop this film.

pretty much 3D was my reason the watch the movie...
there are quite a few scenes without 3D but it is worth my 5 extra bucks for 3D...

Yeah...experience half of the screen with subtitles.
And I wonder why the fonts were so big for the Bahasa Melayu.
I bet if the alien language was translated into English than it will be 3/4 of the screen..
Spoil a good movie.

I had no issues at all with subtitles... especially in 3D since it is all English.

Quite funny I watched it 2nd time normal 2D and the subs were in Bahasa, complete with all the Na'vi-ish style writing...

Good one, but thats only half the story, the rest of it is different.

Pocahontas died in foreign land (England) without John Smith by her side (she presume he was dead)
Some even say Pocahontas died of a broken heart rather than sickness.

Maybe James Cameron might go to that direction to for the sequel wink.gif

I just booked the ticket for me and my wife for this movie. However, its not a big hall since the seating for big hall is not to my liking. So, I choose another timeslot which is in a smaller hall. I booked 5th row from the screen. Will the experience of watching it in a small hall be any diff from the big one?

I think 5th row should be good.

Now to anyone who has been to hall 4 in pavilion (the bigger of the two 3D halls), is row 4 too near to the screen? I'm not sure how big and far the screen is from the seats. faster reply please I wanna buy the tickets now lol
