Actually...with this kinda movies...what else is new?

I've learned to accept this new gen thing, especially with Hollywood movies.

If want something different, can always watch Quentin Tarantino, Clint Eastwood or some indie movies...that also ppl say copied from some where else

the Matrix can be said to be a rip off from Dark City, the last samurai from dancing with the wolves

Well, if it's a combination of these two films, then it's not a complete ripoff, is it?

avatar ripping off the last samurai->white guy goes to a foreign land,meets the girl,learn their ways,makes love and wins the war.
avatar ripping off the matrix->white guy is the Chosen One and also a device is used to transform Thomas A. Anderson to become Neo. Avatar program to transform Jake to his avatar.

Jake Sully didnt really get "chosen" like Neo in Matrix.
He was in the programme coz his twin bro (the original avatar user) died. So he was there coz he needed the money/incentives provided by the corporation to get rid of his disability.

It cheaper to find a replacement with close DNA resemblance than to remake another new Avatar all over again from a new person.

I do agree that the plot is abit shallow. But look at the art direction/concept art, and settings of this movie. It deserves full marks for it.

dam, my cheap Klang area did not have 3D for Avatar... Watched the non-3D, still nice though....

So now two of the highest grossing movie of all time belongs to James Cameron. Holy James!



Watched it twice, planning a third. Problem is, the more times watched, the less 'eventful' the viewing on Blu-Ray in the future will be at least for me.


"Avatar" is one of those "this movie is awesome, go tell your friends to watch it." and word passes around and before you know it, "Avatar" is packing full houses for a loooong time...

As the movie producer put it "Avatar is not a movie you can talk about. You have to experience it yourself."

honest, i enjoy the technology, if compare and full detail on every scene, that is no point for u to pay rm 17 for it
just buy a pasar malam version .....

Yeah...experience half of the screen with subtitles.
And I wonder why the fonts were so big for the Bahasa Melayu.
I bet if the alien language was translated into English than it will be 3/4 of the screen..
Spoil a good movie.
