Is it just me, or Streamyx having problem? I kept getting dc after installing the update...always have a few errors...for example the FFFFF error while trying to view my friends profile.... I know that all the updates from different servers is the same, i've dl-ed from Japan via PC....but does that contribute to the problems? kept getting dc, prevents me from playing my online games now...

You can use any region firmware to update any region console, they're all the same.

just want to confirm:
as long as the MD5 checksum is right,i can update the PS3 worry free,yes?(barring any hiccups like nerd's ps3,anyway)

guys, the hard disk method doesn't work, but maybe because I don't have the correct equipment. gonna head over to Sora's house tomorrow to format my hard disk using his PS3 and see how, because he successfully managed to update to 2.40

if that doesn't work I'm gonna perform a low-level format on the drive and see if that does the trick. last resort, ask bernard to claim warranty for me luckily I've finished MGS4.

sheesh, NEVER trust Screamyx, especially when it's PMS-ing, to update your system software, especially if it's a major update gonna drop this tip into the beginner's thread so that nobody kena the same thing as me.
