Since it's only for 2 days, i suggest you take a flight instead. Airasia flies you to SG for only RM39 in Oct. It's even cheaper than taking a coach and you save 4 hours.
And if you are referring to the KTM train, please forget about it. It takes around 8 hours. Not worth of your 2 days.

By Train to Singkapo from KL? doh.gif You will lose a day just going by KTM! Which is why it's not many people's mode of transport to Singkapo.

What makes you pick these 2 hotel? hmm.gif

When you say public transport means what? Taxi or MRT or Bus?
Value Hotel@Thompson is not near to MRT. The nearest MRT, Novena, is too far for me to walk. So is Hotel 81@Osaka's
Paya Lebar MRT station is 15 minutes away on foot!!! sweat.gif

Please recommend me a hotel in Singapore where it is near to MRT Station.
And with a budget of below RM200/night.

So far I have researched a handful of hotels (varies from 2 star to 3 star), to name a few, there're Hotel Bencoolen, Value Hotel Balestier, Fragrance - Rose Hotel / Oasis Hotel, Aqueen Hotel Balestier, the downsite is, they are far from MRT, mostly required about 15-min walking distance to the nearest MRT. hmm.gif

KTM worth it unless you are a light sleeper.. Travel at night, reach singapore early morning. You can spend more time in SG this way but the only problem is have to wake up very early 6 am-ish at both sides immigration, etc...

There's 2 fragrance hotel outlets near Lavender MRT. About 7 mins walking distance. Lavender is just 1 stop away from Bugis, and just 2 stops away from City hall. not sure how much, and can't recall their names now though

yes Skypark is $20, and no time limit, 360 degrees view. I say it's worth it. I suggest if you want to go there, go in the late afternoon, the view from 6-8pm is the best . The casino is good too.

Hi guys, I'll frequent this thread more often when I have time and try to help answer some queries. For those who are coming after Nov, from December onwards, I'll be able to give tours around the island.

panasonic88: if you can afford the butler sky dining, it's worth a try, it's the best time to go at around 6-7, for about an hour, you might be able to see the sunset. It's romantic and the food & experience is worth all the money.

The Flyer being the highest Ferris wheel in the world which is quite similar to London Eye, only better is definitely worth a try. But some people who cannot afford it will give it a miss. I would say, if you come here for honey moon, the flyer, and the cable car are two rides not to be missed.

yes, just without the food. So i suggest, for those who are poor like me, to go for the ride only.

^^ having said that, the Skypark at Marina Bay Sands might be a better choice to view the skyline, since it is 360 degrees, unlimited duration, and about 10 storeys higher, free to walk around, and cheaper, for S$20.

yes good choices!

I'll be able to recommend more places if you need and if I know your age group, budget, and interests. Like where to go for shopping, clubbing, sight seeing, leisure, for family orientated, etc. This is what I plan to cater to those who wish to come after November, customised tours, only after my exams when I'm free. smile.gif

Hotel Bencoolen is easily the best there, u can easily walk to 3 different MRT stations of different lines : Bugis (Green), Dhoby Ghaut (Red, Purple), Bras Basah (Yellow).

well i'm not saying the stations are juz right at the doorstep, but its definitely walking distance.
