QUOTE(wlcling @ Aug 26 2010, 05:28 PM) never tried sakura before, but when my family came down they felt it was good for the prices. Sakura is so so only for me. I would suggest Hanabi at Odeon Tower (near Raffles City) which the food quality is much better, n of coz its slightly more exp.for some specialty, at bugis junction, there's a japanese dessert buffet at about $16++... but look so-so only... |

QUOTE(panasonic88 @ Sep 2 2010, 02:33 PM) Please recommend me a hotel in Singapore where it is near to MRT Station. Hotel Bencoolen is easily the best there, u can easily walk to 3 different MRT stations of different lines : Bugis (Green), Dhoby Ghaut (Red, Purple), Bras Basah (Yellow). And with a budget of below RM200/night. So far I have researched a handful of hotels (varies from 2 star to 3 star), to name a few, there're Hotel Bencoolen, Value Hotel Balestier, Fragrance - Rose Hotel / Oasis Hotel, Aqueen Hotel Balestier, the downsite is, they are far from MRT, mostly required about 15-min walking distance to the nearest MRT. well i'm not saying the stations are juz right at the doorstep, but its definitely walking distance. QUOTE(gerl @ Oct 14 2010, 11:00 AM) Hi, 1. its true that they closed the roller coaster for some sort of 'technical issue' laz time, i juz not sure they reopen it now d or not.revolusi.tuah, tumpang your thread abit k? hehe. 1) Heard some people say that Universal studios not yet fully complete(roller coaster or sumthin not complete), next year then complete so some say don't visit sg now. Is this true? 2) Anyone tried going to singapore by train? How is it? I suggested we take flights, but my dad wanted to see the scenery on the way there. How long is the journey? Like revolusi.tuah, we are also planning the trip for the end of the year from KL to Sg. 2. take train from kl to sg actually is not a bad idea, get those sleeping berth, depart from kl ard 10 something pm n reach sg by next morning 8 something (i dont remember the exact timing), so its much longer than take bus but u get to sleep n rest better, rather than u reach sg by damn early morning like 5 or 6am. as for scenery... seriously there's nothing out there to see haha. |

QUOTE(d3m0n @ Nov 18 2010, 11:13 AM) Will keep that in mind, thanks. You working in Singapore? it is, n there's another shopping mall called City Square nearby, juz to let u know.Is it within walking distance? What is a GST refund? Sorry for a noob question. GST is the 7% tax of SG. I not sure abt the T&C to claim it back, but i think u only can do it in airport. |

QUOTE(alwinc @ Nov 27 2010, 01:52 PM) planning to take mrt during my journey to sg. but i have a question in mind : its the same station, u juz walk across to the opp platform at City Hall station once out from the train.let says if i depart from changi and heading over to orchard road, the mrt route is like this : Walk 174 m Walk to Changi Airport Station. East-West Line Board the train towards Tanah Merah Station in about 4 min and alight at Tanah Merah Station, 2 stops later. East-West Line Board the train towards Joo Koon Station in about 4 min and alight at City Hall Station, 9 stops later. North-South Line Board the train towards Jurong East Station in about 4 min and alight at Somerset Station, 2 stops later. ------------------------ means i need to change line from East-west line to North-south line. is it troublesome? im able to change line in the same station that i alight? or need walk to another mrt station? kinda confused |

QUOTE(alwinc @ Nov 27 2010, 10:26 PM) oh.. by the way there is an interchange station between tanah merah and city hall station also right? trains from Changi will terminate at Tanah Merah, u juz get off from the train to the platform on ur left n hop onto the next train to City Hall.if u're not sure juz look for the platform with the signboard to Joo Koon. |

if u going to Marina Sands i think Promenade is better, since it a bit nearer n u get to walk along the Helix Bridge. Marina Bay station is kinda like at the middle of nowhere.
as for Astons... there's 1 in The Cathay (Dhoby Ghaut station), but its damn long q during meal time. |
