In Singapore don't go for 'street food'. They won't taste as good as in Malaysia (less salt/sugar and no MSG)
Go for fine dining and the more upmarket gourmet cafes. Those are so much better than Malaysia.

The easiest way to find the best food, grab a copy of Timeout Singapore magazine and browse through the dining section.

going to sing in sept again.. thinking of getting a ps3 there.. Wondering if it's cheaper to get it there or buying sg set from seller here.

Warranty wise, not much of a problem for me cos have a close friend who's working there and comes back to malaysia quite often.

The last time i went, i made a mistake of not going to sim lim square to check out pc stuff.. was going around here and there trying to satisfy my gf's shopping urge.. This time going alone, so it's gonna be "ME" time. smile.gif

Really crap that few rides in USS is not open yet... missed it last round, this round gonna miss it again.. not worth paying 77 sgd for the entrance..

no point spend more for an ezlink card if 1 day trip... one way tickets should be fine....

at point of entry, queue up a little to buy ticket, then at point of disembark, queue up a little to give back your ticket and claim back your $1 deposit... so simple.

Agreed. Spent 2 months in SG on work being taken to all the 'famous' street food and the standard was pretty horrible, lol. Cafes and restaurants are good, but also $$$$ ... I think I recall spending sgd50 on brunch in PS cafe on dempsey road once, lol.

Quite a few nice one, esp those at the hotels - Hyatt Hotel, Pan Pacific Hotel, Shangri-la Hotel, Marriot Hotel. Cheaper buffets are at Swissotel Merchant Court, Rendezvous Hotel, Amara Hotel, Phoenix Hotel.

Then, the most economical of all, and not in hotels is this restaurant chain called Sakura international buffet restaurant, got a few outlets.

never tried sakura before, but when my family came down they felt it was good for the prices.

for some specialty, at bugis junction, there's a japanese dessert buffet at about $16++... but look so-so only... biggrin.gif

Sakura is so so only for me. I would suggest Hanabi at Odeon Tower (near Raffles City) which the food quality is much better, n of coz its slightly more exp.

Sentosa for the almost disney-land-ish feel.
