QUOTE(tinkerbel @ Jul 12 2008, 10:51 PM) @David83, Yup.. I suppose I don't think I be benefiting much from the rebates given hence never made an attempt to put in an application for a co-branded card. I also don't like the idea of carrying too many cards around. I recently applied for an Amex so I now have an additional card to carry. I also don't like the idea of carrying so many cards in my wallet. I don't carry my MBB Petronas Visa all the time. I prefer to consolidate every swipe to a single card.

I don't have MBB Mastercard. MBB Petronas Visa is my 1st co-branded card mainly used for petrol refueling at Petronas. I seldom or rarely use my CIMB DA Mastercard.

You could apply one normal and one co-branded. Then your headache will be lesser. It could take few weeks to get your application approved depending on how good your credit history. They'll usually mail or courier the card to your mailing address unless you specifically told them to send the nearest branch for pickup.

@Shinichi, I don't see a need for more than 1 emergency back up card. Also, applying for an additional CC would mean U have to pay annual fees for it; so Y bother?
@Hybz, Not true - different cards (be it co-brand or not) have different benefits/promotions tied to them. U can go through those promotions and see which one ur going to be utilising the most. As to wait time, I've never waited more than 3 weeks before I received the physical card through courier.

Shinichi could target those which is free for life*. As for Hybz, it's true that different co-branded card has different benefits/promotions but usually co-branded is tied one merchant. I don't want to get myself into nitty gritty stuffs by getting so many co-branded cards. Ha! Ha!

Otherwise, he may consider MBB Petronas Visa (co-branded).

Thanks David83 & tinkerbel for your feedback. Actually I'm considering should I apply for MBB Petronas CC as my backup. Since its free for life with no condition. And I don't mind its a co-brand with Petronas since it will be my backup card. I bet the bank won't charge me anything or deactivates the card if I'm not using it right?
Also I have a question regarding free for life CCs. Let say normally a CC is valid for around 5 years, let say if MBB Petronas CC is no longer available after 5 years, will the bank renew MBB Petronas CC after current one expires?

QUOTE(mengfui @ Jul 13 2008, 04:58 PM) Ambank Real Reward Master is F.F.L w/o any terms aand condition too. I don't get what they mean here: QUOTE Fees & Charges • RM90 for Principal Card • RM45 for Supplementary Card • FREE-for-Life for Principal & Supplementary with no transaction condition RM90 for principle, but below they mention FFL, so which is true? Very confusing... Guess I'll skip this for good

@ Shinichi
For the bank rules, they must write an amount for the annual fee even they has the FFL benefits. Because the card is initially need to pay the fee, then they add in a feature for the card, which is free for life, so they put the fee first then add in the Free For Life term.
