hi guys...

as a new user of xps...i would like to ask...how important the drive D: RECOVERY ? i'm thinking of using that 10gig of space for other things (dual/triple boot maybe) but afraid of loosing something useful in that D drive. i;m currently downlodng trial version of acronis, planning to create image of that D drive. can i restore back the initial state of D drive with acronis? hehe...first time to try it.

hope to get some feedback... blush.gif

i think what u meant is the whinning sound of the intel core 2 duo. I thin this only happen for dell xps laptops. I didnt see this with the HP pavilio notebooks...

its normal at night if u here an *eee...eeee...eee* sound.. even most of the xps that come into my hands have such thing..

well if u return it, they will change for u a refurbish motherboard and the issue might not be solved as well. XPS produced on 21st Feb 2008 also suffer from the whinning sound like mine. but dell kinda have no solution for this..

i think dopod would be able to advise on this much further since he went all the way to get his motherboard revised by dell USA if im not mistaken.. give him a pm though...

yeah thats what i did. dell can try to fix ur motherboard, if there is still sound, they might chnage another one for u or if ur lucky a replacement.. if ur still not satisfy, they might offfer u a refund though..

Am slowly getting used to my new laptop. I like it very much cuz it's light and very portable. No problems with it, no funny sounds and all that. Build quality seemed okay also. Can't complain smile.gif Glad I went with this.

yeah thats very lucky.. normally dell products are not consistence. if one were to complain why one lappy does not have sounc and etc and another ones does. they ll just ruled out that the lappy is build in compliance with dell guidelines.

and at that time, they ll offer anyone concern with a refund, or u can accept with that lappy.
