Added on April 26, 2008, 7:50 pmi just tested my aunt's notebook. quality so so but still ok. do u guys found xps got jerking sound quite frequent? is not harddisk sound but something chi chi chi....is totally not harddisk, coz i know how harddisk sound...

any xps users there know what is that chi chi chi sound?

i think is normal...my aunt one also like that
but my aunt don't know y got sound from bottom...chi chi like something processing. is it processor sound? another sound is harddisk sound...i think is normal. but the sound chi chi chi for so long although i did not open anything or do any processing...

so u just leave ur xps with whinning sound without fixing it?

my aunt said ok with it. after installed rmclock utility and disable the popdown and popup mode...sound lower down a bit but still very noticable...

don't know yet...but will be this few brands. fujitsu, toshiba and lenovo thinkpad

sure got heat one...if not, abnormal already. even fujitsu, sony, thinkpad also got heat but less...
don't expect dell quality better than those good quality notebook like the brand i mentioned...

i called and want to refund...i very insist to get refund coz i don't want waste time to troubleshoot and replace here and there...try to convince me, bla bla bla
then tell me need rm80 for delivery charges and i said ok with it....

now surveying other brand notebook...

Added on April 29, 2008, 3:01 pmi don't know what brand, but it tick tick every 2-3 seconds. it not the harddisk reading sound coz the tick sound there when there are no blinking

damn fedup, just refund lar...i think i spend another rm500-1000 to buy better quality lar

seale_navy, i really don't know y u still can tahan with that kind of problem. Notebook is important to me coz it help me generate income and everyday i use almost it 10-12, for working, surfing, listen music and watching video.

sorry, can't join u guys...coz i will return xps this afternoon...just receive letter from dhl and ask them to come this afternoon to collect

after read your guys problems...feel lucky coz refund the notebook

last time i bought the xps and i refund it becoz the whine sound....
luckily i made the correct decision to refund...now only know the nvidia gpu got such problem...

luckily i refunded the xps m1330 after i so annoy with the whine sound...if not, sure will headache with the mobo and nvidia problem...
