Uhmm since, Malaysia never officially launched Iphone 2g, I doubt any store here will change it for you (assuming Malaysia ever gets one... maybe in Nigeria)

only if you bought it from authorised iphone seller. e.g. apple store, at&t store, o2 store etc. and usually proof of purchase is required.

and by may 27, most of stores were supposed to be out of stock, somehow some people did managed to get it (out of desperation or they know they will get a new set), or some stores did have few units left.

you wont be able to get a new out of box iphone now from any of the authorised sellers.

ahh 50 pages already.been following this tread since page 1.i need a new phone so badly now.why so late this iphone comes.i had to choose between n95 or 1st gen iphone last time.i need the gps but im in love with iphone's interface.so i had to sacrifice either gps or iphone.now iphone 3g with gps,definitely scrapped nokia and iphone all the way.but why so late...

waiting to buy 1 bt dunno hv to wait until when,and dunno whether it'll be release in Malaysia or not...like the 1st Generation Iphone,when the sales n service centre open in sunway pyramid,i thought they are finally going to be released here but until now...everytime i passed by the Apple shop the staff there very senang cos no customer,even lalat also malas 1 to go in so they cant 'pak wu ying' also...

We don't sign contract and most of the user use Prepaid mode..

but y don't he sell it straight to end user with a higher price? y must he sell the Iphone thru Telcos? did he make more money by selling thru Telco provider?

He need subsidy to make the iphone price USD 199.I f you sign contract mean

monthly plan charge=expensive

so he can announce "new iphone 3g, twice as fast, half the price. at usd199*"

i believe there are many people who dun mind buying at a higher price without signing watever contract with a Telco company...how many ppl willing to switch Telcos just bcos Digi or or U-mobile has it?

it is not as simple as you thought.

this way will guaranteed good quality to be delivered to iphone user as well.

and there's a thing called excluvisity, which benefits both the telco and apple themselves.

if it an open set, any telco would be able to make use of it, which telco will take responsibility to developed facilites required by the iphone/apple (e.g. the atypical voicemail system).

there is a lot of issue. and like someone said above, the operator system in malaysia is just too different from the rest of the world.

then u mean unless our Telcos willing to change its operating system tat suits Apple or the Iphone then only we'll be able to get them here? if it is then be prepare to buy imported ones...
