Sigh, we can continue this debate on SingTel were to sell the iPhone 3G in no-contract price until end of the year.

all mobile telco in malaysia wanted the mobile to be able for full 3 G video call .... in this way they can look forward of charging customers for this services ( making extra $$$ lahh ) ... iphone 3G could not do this yet in malaysia .. ( 3G video call and picture MMS NOT possible on this iphone 3G phone )



so ... this is the reason as WHY iphone 3G not listed for the launch JUly 11

Thats why people in Malaysia will never get 3G iPhone coz when it comes to 3G, they only think about vid call and MMS. iPhone 3G focus more on its faster data connection if compared to EDGE. IMHO ... in 100 people, less than 10 will use vid call.

BTW ... even the 1st gen iPhone can send/receive picture MMS using swirlyMMS and its not 3G dependent. Picture MMS can even work with GPRS.

for brother and sister who never been living in SG . This is some kind of cases which the new mobile will exist in their store .

as i know there're some ppl who trying to sign contract and get the phone after that sell to others retailer shops around [ purpose of getting cash ! ]and thats why the flow there is running fast and furious .

ya,u r right there bro,i remember when i 1st got a 3G phone,then straightaway went to apply for a 3G simcard,purpose is to use video call only but after a few calls starts to get bored ord,i even sold off the 3G phone n bought a non 3G 1 after that!

Your statement will be least concern of Apple. I dont think much people using 3G video calls nowadays in Malaysia even they subscribed 3G.

telco can make plenty of money with iphone actually. data transfer using 3g/edge or gprs gives a lot of money to telco, doesnt have to be video call. and how many people will use video call if compare to data transfer. not to mention exclusivity if apple sign iphone to a specific telco in malaysia.

yes. for e.g. some people just need their monthly minutes allowance. they pay a fixed amount of money monthly to ensure they have a 'X' no. of minutes monthly and be given a free n95 8gb. but then they prefers their old nokia 3110, so why not sell the n95 in ebay for some cash. phone is not their main concern, but the allowance minutes monthly.

Do not forget that the iPhone is already wildly popular by its own even my old fashion father heard about it. It practically sells by its own. Just put a full page on newspaper with iPhone and your telco's name and there's your money.

In short forms, iPhone 3G focus more on data transfer speed. Some people surfs the web with EDGE, it's slow so 3G is here.

In 1 day how many times do u use video calls and what about in 1 month?

I don't think anyone will be interested to make video calls with the current price and also the laggy video.

I only use one time video call. Nothing special about video call beside expensive. Even Europe also not popular with video call. Steve jobs know about this.

i'm one of those who dun care about the front facing camera or MMS.
both also tarak guna to me..
3g iphone, connectivity and surfing on demand without wifi spot...

i think too many people emphasis 3g to video calls.. video calls is like the last thing i'll do.. if do also for fun to test test then will never use... 3G is more on data transfer speed which makes it able to handle video calls..

Everyone is so hyped up with iPhone 3G... and most ppl got the misleading information from the WWDC08...

Firstly on price and secondly on the 3G thinking there is video calls...

usually front camera only 0.3MP so u can imagine the quality...its very jerky and laggy,not smooth unlike those u watch on TV...
