when i tried the xpac; celcom's prepaid the last time (because my streamyx was done for a few days), i did realise that celcom does not support egde (only gprs)

but i have to say that celcom's hsdpa speed is admirable. i could download my movies/series at a speed much faster than a cable streamyx.

from my personal experience, maxis' hsdpa becomes more inferior as the height from the ground increases (applicable to high rise buildings). but having said that celcom's hsdpa still remains impressive even at those equivalent heights.

as for maxis, if i applied for postpaid and apply for 3g unlimited, i still can surf new, etc using my iphone right, its just using edge to connect with the speed of edge right..? unlimited for maxis is 99/month right..? hmmmm.....

time to googling around and ask Mr. Google again~~~...

Personal view : Speed of 3g and EDGE is not much difference. Why use 3g when you can Wifi at a faster speed with the existing iphone.

EDGE is not fast connection but it helps u when you dont have any wifi point and you need to download mail/surf web..

yes, as Maxis has EDGE connection, iphone will use EDGE.

ya,we still can surf net using wifi, but when we where in the place that no wifi, cannot surf net etc, i want to always connect to internet whenever i go, so i can chech email, mxtube, surfnet etc.. smile.gif

anyway i just check at maxis web page, its rm150 for 3g unlimited ( and when in a place where no 3G ), will connect using edge or gprs,,,i wish maxis also have unlimited "edge" only, so i can subscribe it, sad.gif

good point on the wifi thing, bro Seadege.

but as for neoadv, your view is a little deviated im afraid. try using edge and 3g (or particularly hsdpa) a little often and you may actually observe some marked differences. biggrin.gif

Added on July 3, 2008, 12:20 pmfyi, there isnt 3g (or even gprs) coverage along the north south highway most of the time.

hence, you cant even retrieve mms at those conditions, let alone surfing the net blush.gif

disclaimer: this observation was done using a maxis sim card.

but how come when i set the setting according to the setting in the pc and my previous pda, it state that it cant verify my email with SSL. i pun pening coz my 6120c and previous pda all share the same setting.

or is there any other program that can retrieve email like symbian's profimail..?

U can use POP account in Mail. I've been using it to retrieve mail from office POP servers (but not streamyx). Just turn off the SSL in advance setting.

Good news for those who like to keep their current mobile number but fed-up with current mobile provider, i just receive news that the MNP (Mobile Number Portability) will be implemented by August (finally). What this mean? This mean u can keep the existing number and change to any mobile provider that you like. So if u don't like maxis ... then change to digi or any other telco but retain the phone number. Good if you been using the number for a long time.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I don't mind if you want to use 'ahem' or cra*k or 'patch' app. Its your choice. I do use 'ahem' Vista (coz i think its over-priced for such instability). What i'm trying to say is that if u think that app is good (like swirlyMMS) then why not buy it so they can develop more interesting and good app. Something like a motivation for them. Heck it only cost USD8 = RM25. Like i said over and over ... if u can buy a phone worth RM1k++ then few bucks more wont hurt the pocket right. But sometimes its not about the money but our mentality coz we're so used to 'ahem' stuff.

Just my 2 cents.
