I tot M$ admitted their design & manufacturing flaw on previous system and promised a 3 yrs warranty. I think only bashers don't accept that as answer.

And AFAIK every consoles have their so called revision cycle. The falcon is a part of it for 360. So, I dont even think intro of Falcon is a way ONLY to solve 3RROD problem....? I know that falcon is also cheaper to manufacture. that's all I know

get a ps3 guys smile.gif most of the best games in xbox360 like gears of war, fable, bioshock & mass effect has all been or will be released on PC as well.so i don't see the need to buy 360 should you have a good PC. just buy a ps3 since most of the games are release as multi-platform. For exclusives, i believe the ps3 lineup (Resistance 2, Little Big Planet, Kill Zone 2, FF13, MGS4, GT5 to name a few) is far more better than 360 upcoming lineups.

For me, the reason to get a console is to eliminate the need to keep upgrading the PC. doh.gif
But u r quite right about the some exclusive titles in x360 though. GOW for example...is only 'time' exclusive. But then, u need a powerful PC to play it. And most of the time, when it came out, the console version is already GOW3? LOL

GOW for the PC though release later but is superior compared to X360. The reason behind it is that PC monitor are able to display images higher than FULL HD thus makes it sharper. You won't need to upgrade your PC for GOW2 as if your PC can run GOW1, it should be able to run GOW2 just fine thumbup.gif Remember X360 hardware are fixed. Microsoft cannot push too hard on GOW2 or else the console will suffer from framerate problem.

The "later" is quite long for more than 1 year. smile.gif Anyway i like the way of market tactic plan by Microsoft, i got few pc user members who dun have console but already decide to buy the Jasper xbox360+GOW2 after they play the GOW at PC, they choice not to wait for another 1 year. smile.gif

Of course the graphics is superior but the cost of such a PC is greater too doh.gif One of the 'advantage' of console is longer gaming lifespan because the hardware is fixed and programmer just code what is best/optimum for the hardware. That's y u don't need to upgrade much from time to time.

I won't comment on the GOW2 because it's not even released in xbox360 yet. Even if it is runnable in a GOW1-able PC, it still doesn't guarantee it will run GOW3 lol. Example is COD3 and COD4....u know both have quite different requirement (although they are not exclusive titles)

BTW, let's don't bring this thread to console vs PC lol.

I agree that the reason I bought my first console, and subsequent consoles was the tiring & endless upgrading of hardware on the PC. It was getting expensive and a non-stop cycle, and also not forgetting having to install this and that on the hdd. Just buy both consoles and you'll have the best of both worlds. In the PS2 era, i got the PS2 first and then a couple of months later decided to get an xbox. Ended up playing more with the xbox. Today I've bought 2 xbox360's so far(first died of RROD and couldn't be fixed). Don't have a PS3 yet but I'm happy enough with all the current releases on xbox360 that I don't need to get a PS3...would be nice tho but not necessary biggrin.gif

I guess if you love Jap influenced games, then PS3 is the obvious choice..

damn..for a console super newbie like me, reading this thread still doesnt help me decide which to buy..xbox 360 or a ps3

for me, the xbox 360 has some great exclusive title shooting games i.e gears of war but then again the ps3 doubles as a blu ray player as well...

woah, i still cant decide. Anyone mind chiming in with some advice?

faridz7... hehehe hard ar to choose.... btw do u tend to get the 3rd party controller for added gaming experience? let say u are getting g25 or equivalent controller, or cheap guitar controller etc...if so i would recommend u the ps3 since it have large support for 3rd party and 360 u have to get ms or what is bundled with the game...

think about ur budget for games as well... since price of ps3 is a bit higher if compare to 360 games... but ps3 do offer free online which 360 u have to pay monthly.

360 have the rrod problem which even with the current new falcon chipset, still that doesnt mean its save from the rrod, but ps3 also have their lens problem but to compare with rrod i do prefer t have the lens problem hehe..

the most important thing to check is ............ what game are u looking forward to play... look at the listing of both console and see which havete most that u would want then make ur deceision.... if still cant make any then the only option for u is get both la.. hehehe

thanks mambo for the help

hm 3rd party controller? haha ive no idea what a g25 is..i am afterall a super duper newbie when it comes to consoles. This will be my first console ever but ive played on both the ps3 and xbox though.

im a shoot-em-up type of gamer so the titles im looking forward to play are mainly shooting games..gears of war, call of duty, rainbow six and less on the rpgs, grand theft autos and metal gear solid so my mates tell me to get the xbox in that case but some of them say i should get the ps3 as these titles (besides gears of war) will soon be available on the ps3

and with the ps3, theres the blu ray player as well which since the blu ray has won the HD war..so thats the enticing part bout the ps3

and then with the xbox 360 i know ill be facing that red ring problem which im not looking forward to..sigh choices

Oh also, ill be playing on a hd computer monitor rather than a hd tv and the monitor ill be getting is this: DellTM SP2208WFP 22" Widescreen Flat Panel Monitor With Webcam link here:

http://www1.ap.dell.com/content/products/c...dhs1&l=en&s=dhs

That choice of monitor good enough or are there better ones out there for that value?
