V series is more advanced than the basic S series.

extra feature:
1) digital media port

for your info, the performance of 32S400 on PS3 winning eleven is absolutely awful.

but i just only need to play ps2/3 game and watch dvd only
is that series suits me

I saw plasma have sharp image.
And LG 42PG60 look nice with divx usb reader build in.
the sale assistant from harvey norman suggest lcd tv since I use to connect to the pc but for 42" LCD is more expendsive right?
In my mind now LG 42PG60 , Samsung 32A450..

ronaldjoe, which best denki quoted that price? My friend told me best denki at times square selling 40" for RM6k++ which has a higher contrast ratio of 30000:1 compared to 32" 15000:1. I was expecting the 32" to sell slightly lower than RM3k.

This is the price quoted by the Edge malaysia 1/2 months ago, recommended retail price.

For Astro, you may get some slight improvements with S-Video cable connection - costs RM20-50.
Cheers!  biggrin.gif

OO.....slight improvements??? Hmmm...so watching local tv network on Astro will be better than directly from the athena right? Or is it the same if didnt use the S-Video?

Anyone got a screen shot watching local TV network on Astro??? If it is the same,i dont think i'll install Astro.

if you compare 42" plasma with 40" LCD, apparently, LCD tv cost much higher than plasma tv due to the production cost.
since you gonna use it for PS3 and PC, i will let u know the PC result after i test it on panny plasma.
PS3 gaming on panny plasma is excellent.
im not sure for LG PG60 since it is still very new. havent got the stock yet.

py800 wont less than 10k le....full hd plasma most likely above 10k....

lol adrian , dont be so confident about the pricing or u ll kena poked later, look at the olympic contest form by panasonic in ur shop, 42py800 at rm 7999, boss seem to be so sure about the price but i doubt it, but if it is that price, comfirm not from japan d, since 50" is from sg liu, who know about it, and rumour about plasma price dropping might occur soon due to the heat of lcd and plasma warfare, well it is still rumour.... (check the printscreen)

and adrian, old case, it is possible to sell 42pv80 at lower cost by ordering the olympic package rather than single unit from panny msia, it is a risk for the dealer to keep the home theater stock but i found most of the outside shops are doing that (and sometime they main tipu in the purchase order case, depending on the rep sale ppl from panny to prevent risk) eventually it is cheap to buy a single tv without the home theater but i found out that "kaki" who claimed to get cheap along with his home theater, became aint cheap anymore when he got his 42pv80 with htc 465 at rm 5400 while that package at retail price of rm 6088 and as usual dealer can give about 10% discount for these packages by earning at least 5-7% profit, so in the end, try not to be persuaded for getting the panny home theater if u manage to get the 42pv80 so call below cost.... (of course from authorized shop, pls)

damn panny for messy up the package stuff up, my mistake not realizing the package so soon even i got that list during sunway launching.....

Hi guys,

I'm planning to get a Bravia soon. So the recommendation would be the V series instead of the S series?

I'm looking at HD ready instead of Full HD due to budget constraints tongue.gif

My budget is around 3k and any particular shops to recommend? around kl city/cheras area.

hehe thanks for the input anyway.

I'll go and have a look at the shops, but the A53 series by sharp looks not bad as well.

I was at their factory last month but only manage to see the LCD without any display switched on. So didn't get to judge the PQ. sweat.gif

Bravia the V series has a much better design compared to the S series. But i still haven't get to see the real show unit yet so got to see it first.
