Yea. Received PV80h yesterday. Awesome. Sorry didn't post yesterday, was busy molesting the plasma...heheheh.

The stand can swivel, but swivel from the bottom. The bottom got wheels.

The PQ is excellent. I still haven't look through the manual completely yet.

But this is the package:

2. Panasonic 5 years warranty (stated in the warranty card)

This unit is from Panasonic Malaysia.

My HT-465 home threatre no here yet, so cannot test the 1080p upscale. But I've tried normal component connection DVD playback. the picture is great.

The distance between the TV and my sofa is about 12 feet. So even with 480i still looks very good. You cannot tell.

ronaldjoe, which best denki quoted that price? My friend told me best denki at times square selling 40" for RM6k++ which has a higher contrast ratio of 30000:1 compared to 32" 15000:1. I was expecting the 32" to sell slightly lower than RM3k.

This is the price quoted by the Edge malaysia 1/2 months ago, recommended retail price.

any expected price increase due to the petrol price increase?

I doubt it's Taiwan panel. I do not have the info too. But, I guess it's the same panel factory as before (Korea), which Sony did source from it also.

I went to Legend to try out PC out to a Sharp LCD TV. I think it looks fine for media. For most part, even text is okay. It is slightly blurry here and there. I think this is due to the TV scaling 1360x768 to 1366x768.

Question: Is there a LCD TV where I can disable the scaling? Which models have known methods of access to their service menu?

Update: After some research, i've learnt how to get into the Sharp service menu...and other TV's. Now I just need to figure out if I can disable scaling...

Has anyone compared the sony KLV-32V400A/B and Samsung 32A550?

i've ask around for 40" Plasma and LCD around... With my budget (5K).. a lot salesman recommand me to buy Panna PV80.. I am sure playing Astro on it will not be a problem... How about direct PC plug in??? it max support is 1024*768? any 1 tried to plug in their pc to their Panna? How it looks? Sharp? Blurish? I need some feedback...

if u gonna use the tv as PC plug in most of the time, plasma tv is not suitable for u.

however, LCD tv 40" doesnt perform as good as plasma tv in term of astro signal and movie watching.

if u think that u seldom connect the pc into tv, u may consider for plasma tv.

i dont see a point that buy a 40" lcd tv to use as PC input and let go the quality of plasma tv on astro and dvd play.

Too much talk on Samsung, LG, maybe people expect pay 2k and insist RM3k performance and quality from the money one pays. Ahh.. what you pay is what you get. I thought the Panny is just great!. Sony is like PREMIUM priced product.
Fact is..OLDER or OUTGOING models are on price offer. Plain and simple business..Dealers ain't in the Charity buisiness.

Anyway, I finally VOID warranty my economy cheapo Philips DVD-3126 by modding the analog output stage with replacing the SMD opamp to something more hi-end..and the result?.. WOOW!...
