QUOTE(DigitalTech @ Apr 20 2008, 12:23 PM) [attachmentid=448533][attachmentid=448534] It looks very decent and nice set [attachmentid=448535][attachmentid=448537] [attachmentid=448539][attachmentid=448540] Yea. Received PV80h yesterday. Awesome. Sorry didn't post yesterday, was busy molesting the plasma...heheheh. The stand can swivel, but swivel from the bottom. The bottom got wheels. The PQ is excellent. I still haven't look through the manual completely yet. But this is the package: 1. Panasonic HDMI cable 2. Panasonic 5 years warranty (stated in the warranty card) This unit is from Panasonic Malaysia. My HT-465 home threatre no here yet, so cannot test the 1080p upscale. But I've tried normal component connection DVD playback. the picture is great. The distance between the TV and my sofa is about 12 feet. So even with 480i still looks very good. You cannot tell. Btw noob question, PV80H is full HD or HD ready? |

QUOTE(yumyum77 @ Jun 1 2008, 02:49 PM) ronaldjoe, which best denki quoted that price? My friend told me best denki at times square selling 40" for RM6k++ which has a higher contrast ratio of 30000:1 compared to 32" 15000:1. I was expecting the 32" to sell slightly lower than RM3k. It's BEST in 1Utama. Added on June 1, 2008, 2:51 pm This is the price quoted by the Edge malaysia 1/2 months ago, recommended retail price. |

QUOTE(htkaki @ Jun 14 2008, 11:58 AM) I doubt it's Taiwan panel. I do not have the info too. But, I guess it's the same panel factory as before (Korea), which Sony did source from it also. I saw TX-37LX80M and TX-37LX800M in HN today...
Difference is so huge Colour and contrast are so much richer and better in TX-37LX800M. Price difference of RM300 in LX800 is justifiable. Seeing is believing. Looking forward to see how LZ800 performs On the other hand Samsung A650 series is one class above A550 series, but the price is... |

QUOTE(ionStorm @ Jun 29 2008, 01:41 PM) I went to Legend to try out PC out to a Sharp LCD TV. I think it looks fine for media. For most part, even text is okay. It is slightly blurry here and there. I think this is due to the TV scaling 1360x768 to 1366x768. Full HD panel + 1080p HDMI = no blurry image Question: Is there a LCD TV where I can disable the scaling? Which models have known methods of access to their service menu? -- Update: After some research, i've learnt how to get into the Sharp service menu...and other TV's. Now I just need to figure out if I can disable scaling... Btw there is an 'HDTV' option under ATI catalyst to adjust scaling. QUOTE(itanium @ Jun 30 2008, 03:11 PM) One is HD Ready and one is Full HD panel... bit unfair to compare these models This post has been edited by ronaldjoe: Jun 30 2008, 05:00 PM |

QUOTE(tom_k3nt @ Jul 1 2008, 05:14 PM) Dear all, You can consider Full HD LA40A550 as alternative. Below RM5k without free gifts.i've ask around for 40" Plasma and LCD around... With my budget (5K).. a lot salesman recommand me to buy Panna PV80.. I am sure playing Astro on it will not be a problem... How about direct PC plug in??? it max support is 1024*768? any 1 tried to plug in their pc to their Panna? How it looks? Sharp? Blurish? I need some feedback... Thanks. QUOTE(iamsobloodysick @ Jul 1 2008, 05:36 PM) if u gonna use the tv as PC plug in most of the time, plasma tv is not suitable for u. PC input on 40" will be very weird even on full HD LCD (via HDMI input)....however, LCD tv 40" doesnt perform as good as plasma tv in term of astro signal and movie watching. if u think that u seldom connect the pc into tv, u may consider for plasma tv. i dont see a point that buy a 40" lcd tv to use as PC input and let go the quality of plasma tv on astro and dvd play. You can test PC input on 40" ....then you will see 1920 x 1080 on 32" full HD is already too big IMO... 40" full HD LCD for gaming would be very This post has been edited by ronaldjoe: Jul 2 2008, 10:44 AM |

QUOTE(eYeLeNe @ Jul 6 2008, 03:45 PM) TX-37LX800MK Comparing LX800 and LX80, the PQ difference is easily noticeable. Vast improvement on LX800 Vs LX80. Retail price is RM3,999. Less few hundreds discount ... (depending on bargaining skills) On the other hand, I saw LZ800, LX800 and LX80 placed side by side in BEST today. LZ800 is definitely one class above all LZ800 is a good choice for ppl who look for premium LCD TV. QUOTE(bsl555 @ Jul 7 2008, 04:16 PM) Thank you but I think the improvement (if any is marginal). I've only got less than 2.5k to spend.. NO MORE!...POkai already!. Thanks..no end if I still wanna mull over this and that. Too much talk on Samsung, LG, maybe people expect pay 2k and insist RM3k performance and quality from the money one pays. Ahh.. what you pay is what you get. I thought the Panny is just great!. Sony is like PREMIUM priced product. Fact is..OLDER or OUTGOING models are on price offer. Plain and simple business..Dealers ain't in the Charity buisiness. Anyway, I finally VOID warranty my economy cheapo Philips DVD-3126 by modding the analog output stage with replacing the SMD opamp to something more hi-end..and the result?.. WOOW!... QUOTE(ikan_semilang @ Jul 7 2008, 06:07 PM) Difference between Panasonic 32" LX80 and Panasonic 32" LX800 for RM300 just only 100mhz Motion Picture Pro, SD Card slot right? LX800 and LX80 difference is huge...LX80 picture seems very blur and whitish. Colour in LX80 also very 'fake' and artificial.Even small kid can tell you which one is better Go to BEST or HN and they have LX80 and LX800 placed side by side. Seriously the extra RM300 is worth to pay This post has been edited by ronaldjoe: Jul 7 2008, 11:38 PM |
