I managed to get the info below before that page was brought down, perhaps, they going to put up an updated soon with T&C perhaps.
Initial Upfront Fees - RM999 (modem) + RM100 (registration) = RM1099 Installation Fee - RM75 (optional) 1st Bill - RM10 (stamp duty) + RM50 (activation) + RMxxx (package subsrcibed) Total - (RM1099 + RM10 + RM50) + RMxxx = RM1159 + RMxxx No news of waiving of installation, stamp duty, registration, activation fees for early birds? Upfront most likely will be one time charge paid initially. Packages are 400kbps, 700kbps, 1.2Mbps, 2.3Mbps (if not wrong), with the condition of contractual and non contractual (more expensive). It's interesting when you double your speed from 1mbps to 2mbps using streamyx you have to pay less than double but when you double your speed for p1w1max you have to pay more than double! Nice job P1. I guess this is not for me...yet. Need to see how it goes after the launch.

QUOTE(xcess @ Aug 18 2008, 01:34 PM) seem P1 already taken this web page down...they promised great rate for the package...but the rate according that site aren't promising at all RM999 for the modem? how long it last?? it isn't compact enough...seem it size half of a laptop... it isn't convenient for some of the user who travel frequently... register fee and activation fee??? i dunno why they going to charge those fees since they are new to the market...they thought they are streamyx is it im so disappointed~ i was looking forward swap my streamyx for this...i was expecting slightly higher charge than TM...but now |

imo
RM999-1500 for modem, over-price. what modem warranty & repair ? better wait for RM500 sub range for wimax modem. by selling modem, the company just earn upfront. just like very 1st 3G modem. sad need to wait 2 year down the road, for a affordable wimax modem. package price are attractive "1.2Mbps only" no contract, is there a handling fees like maxis or any hidden termination fees ??? Need to see how it goes after the launch. cell tower are very limited bandwidth/expensive to invest, compare to out DSLAM exchange (fiber expandable bandwidth). <= hope some1 better knowledge clear this upanytime TMnet can bump up the speed speed on exchange. let's do the maths, 1 cell tower = 100Mbps*(assume only) 1.2Mbps = 83 user 2.4Mbps = 41 user 2.4Mbps RM5256(24m) RM999 =RM6255 *41 =RM256455 1.2Mbps RM2136(24m) RM999 =RM3135 *83 =RM260205 obvious right ? » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « |

QUOTE(jianwei87 @ Aug 18 2008, 03:08 PM) No, that is the advertised speed only, with the overheads there and here, as stated by them as Best Effort only, so you may only get somewhere around 75% or above on the advertised speed, if you are lucky, you may get almost near 1.2 or even short bursts of 1.2 + +. I hope P1 will reconsider their packages initial investment, waive or give special introductory price, waive all the registrations... etc for limited time to capture potential customers. By looking at the info earlier, I will definitely think twice before do anything. Perhaps subscribe to trial first if the availability is there on my area. |
