1. Did you regret for going thru form 6??izzit really so tough like others said?

50-50... it's up to u whether u enjoy ur form 6 or feel that it's torture...

2. Can share some experiences on your study? izzit really a MUST to study everyday for few hours??

me ar?? i depend 100% on tuition ... and i pass all my subject... kinda regret never did any self-study... to aim better results.

3. What subjects should be taken in science stream?

bio, physic, chemistry, maths T, further maths, additional subjects...??

4. The most important thing, can I still apply for uni(such as Utar) if I din do well or sumore even worst failed in stpm??

i think getting a F in STPM is kinda hard unless u blank like 80% of the exam questions... ^__^ and yeah UTAR & KTAR mininum requirement is 2 principles ( 2 C ) so i guess it's a sure-in for these two pricate unis but it's all varies for different colleges.

anyway good luck in ur STPM! and MUET has just change their syllabus so if u are the first batch it should be ok as they would normally lower the bar down to prove the new syllabus works.

1. no regret lo, learn a lot thing and met a lot frens there. actually it was quite tough for bio student coz need to study and memorise a lot. sumo tat time my batch was the new batch using english, damn hard for us since we had no reference book in english, we need to study oversea bio book sweat.gif

2. if u wana score above 3.7, better study everyday lo.

3. depends on which sub u prefer. i dislike physic, so i join the bio and chem class. now i m studying biochem in um.

4. depends on which course u apply and wats the min requirement of the course. put more effort if u wana take stpm smile.gif

form 6 is actually one of the many possible malaysian education courses that is up to international standard. but hell some of the teachers are not qualified to teach and it all depends on your initiative. i would say discipline and time management skills are important when you are in form 6. just dont slack off too much.

I am proud that i took stpm. Well, it depends on individual..

2. Can share some experiences on your study? izzit really a MUST to study everyday for few hours??
Yes, i made revision daily & did alot of exercises (eg past yr questions) and short notes for the subjects.. asked for clarification and better understanding.

3. What subjects should be taken in science stream?
Usually there's 2 combination - biology (include pengajian am, math, chemistry) or physic ( include pengajian am, math, chemistry). but some of my friends they took 5 of them.. meaning bio, physic & the other 3.

4. The most important thing, can I still apply for uni(such as Utar) if I din do well or sumore even worst failed in stpm??
Well, you need to refer to the minumum requirement.. do your best and i am sure you will pass ... : )

1. Did you regret for going thru form 6??izzit really so tough like others said?

depends on your foundation @spm. if you score well in spm getting no C or below then you should be fine with stpm with some constant effort of studying.

if you just wan a pass in stpm it is not that hard after all. but if you want to score, then you will have to work hard.

2. Can share some experiences on your study? izzit really a MUST to study everyday for few hours??

discover your own way of studying.you might need to focus more on your weak subjects and so on. you should know if you need to spend more time on reading and so on.

3. What subjects should be taken in science stream?

depends on combination of subjects your sch offers. another thing to consider is your ambition before deciding. normally you get to choose only physic or biology as the rest will be maths , chemistry and pa

I concur.
I never really regretted spending two years in Form 6(even though many ppl,esp my friends that have chosen to enrol in private colleges would think that studying Form6 is a waste of time, but I strongly disagree)The only thing I regretted is picking Science stream over Art stream.I did fairly well in my SPM,scored As for both my Additional Maths and Physics thus I thought it was a sound choice to keep staying in Science stream(esp when I was determined to be an engineer.Later I studied Phyics, not Biology)even though I realised deep down that I would do so much better if I were to switch to Art stream. As expected,I didn't perform well throughout that one and half year.
I was so fed up with my Chemistry teacher who has only a few years of teaching experience. She was horrible as she couldn't answer her own questions, she got as confused as us all the time and she didn't sound convincing and confident with her own teaching methods. How were I going to listen attentively during her lessons?I thought I could study by my own without depending on anyone or seeking a tuition teacher but I was proven wrong many times yet I didn't care.Luckily at the end, about one month before my STPM I managed to get an experienced Chemistry teacher who is also a marker for STPM Chemistry paper to give me tuition. And it paid off.I did surprisingly well in my STPM sweat.gif
My Physics and PA depended solely on my tuition teacher because I was dissappointed with my school teachers as well.My Physics and PA teachers were experienced but they curi tulang ALL THE TIME.Sometimes we only got to see them like twice in a week.

U will be very busy when u are in Form 6 esp when there are a lot kokurikulum activities that u have to participle.Just make sure that u listen in class. If the teachers are lousy, get tuition as fast as possible.Don't wait till the last minute like I did hehehe but always make sure that u don't attend tuition class with your friends. That will distract u from listening in class. One of two friends will be enough as u guys camn help each other out with sharing notes and group discussing after tuition.Don't ever attend tuition class with more than 10 students because the tuition teacher will be too busy to pay attention to u and your problems.Don't even skip school and stay at home surfing the net like what I did !!! sad.gif It's okay to skip school if u think u are better off doing the study yourself at home or in the library....but don't only sleep and go online at home. That just shows how important self discipline is.make your own time table and stick to it.
As for subjects like Add Maths, spend more time to understand the concepts and do as many exercises as u can. When u can't understand sth, quickly get help from ur friends or teachers and don't wait till tomorrow because most likely u will forget about it or don't care whether u get the solutions.Get a little notebook where u only drop down all the LITTLE important notes.Revise them all the time.
And don't even try to burn mid night oils.I had been spending many nights awake before studying till 4/5 am but that didn't help as u are probably too physically and mentally drained at that time to be able to concentrate and think clearly. And last thing,do revision every night when u come home no matter how tired u are.And before your teachers teach a new chapter, try to learn it at home the night before as that u can have better understanding in class the next morning.

I really hope it helps.I am feeling really generous this afternoon lol

why you are not considering matrix?? you should indeed unless you are planning to go oversea.

for IPTA, they fit in all matrix students before STPM>use it as a advantage. it is easier to get courses like medicine , pharmacy and so on.

Never regret, i have many very sweet memories during that time biggrin.gif . To me, STPM is not tough. But bear in mind that study in university much more tougher than STPM. Don't ever believe those dockeys say university is very easy once you have undergone STPM.

2. Can share some experiences on your study? izzit really a MUST to study everyday for few hours??
Study? Lol, rarely study that time. Just study before exam still can get good results tongue.gif . Actually, how many hours you need to spend is very depending. If you clever enough then you can spend less time.

3. What subjects should be taken in science stream?
Depend on your interested also. If like calculation, take maths and physics. By the way, physics is easy laugh.gif

4. The most important thing, can I still apply for uni(such as Utar) if I din do well or sumore even worst failed in stpm??
Failed?? No idea, god bless you.

I would like to share my experience here as an ex form 6 scul leaver from 2007. I have never regretted taking form 6 however I do regret i did not put in efforts during form 6. I was the top student in my ex scul before i set for a new scul(my old scul does not offer form 6). I was very highly anticipated since, I'm one of the best. However, I hadn't been able to discipline myself. I hung around with useless fren which lead me to neglecting study and desire to score. I was no longer my old self, getting poor results, being looked down, I felt no shame tat time..... And I do mean shameless. Made my daddy so mad that he actually scolded my everyday, asking me to get back to my old self, get into studying, however, I dun think there's any problem with myself tat time, I only keep on consoling myself, I can do better next time without any realistic initiatives. Time past by and its mid 2007, I finally regained a little consciousness, starting to put somehow little negligible effort. The desire in my fire and fade everyday.... I studied till late nite everyday, however, I still maintain my daily happy-go-lucky routine. I started everything from the beginning. August came, STPM is just 3 months away, I started to regain my consciousness, I kept away from tat fren, forcing myself to study everything from all the beginning since before this, I have never really put in efforts, things just were not in my memory. I did maths exercise everyday, from the beginning, studied physics from the beginning, understanding and solving problems, reading thru chemistry all the way from the start. Of coz, lots and lots of hurdle, lots of questions and problems in understanding, since i nver paid attention in class. My only source of help comes from a senior who's studying at the same class as me. This senior failed UEC before and he attended form 6 in our scul in order to get into uni. He's a real pro in physics and maths, however, I have to withstand lots of bad jokes and being fooled when asking things to him. He was even reluctant to teach me sometimes, and I have to beg him and he always said he dun believe i was the best student in form 5. All these are just aches to my hearts and pride, however I have no turning point, I'm on the journey to decide my future, so all the complaints and laughters and swallowed down and keep deep in my heart. I finished the whole physical chemistry volume 1 and 2 in 1 month time and went further to organic. By tat time, I slowed down on my chemist and started physics, 1month to finish up roughly the whole syllabus of physics which I can only master kinetic. For the last few weeks, I started to memorize all the organic chemistry and inorganic, practising maths. I cried myself in dark so many times in the midnight......... Why hadn't I started earlier??!!!!!!!! Why hadn't I be wiser??!?!!!! Finally its time, for Pengajian AM, I had no big problem, using form 5's bm to answer the question with the corect way of answering. When it comes to maths 1, I started to feel so nervous, I had problems with almost half of the total questions. Maths 2, I handle them quite comfortably. Physics, more than half can't do. Out of 4 essay, I only managed to write 1 essay, which is on kinetic. Chemistry, my worst nite mare, I keep praying and nearly cried out during the exam, begging FATHER IN HEAVEN to help me and turn the time back................... I can only answered 1/3 of the questions and the rest, I simply hentam........ Physics is the last paper on monday, 3rd of December, tat 'good' fren of mine asked me whether I would like to go for movie during the weekend, I'm devastated, I walked away silently....................... When results out, I went to scul to take it, everybody open them in front of their frens, meanwhile for me, I took my result and drove away to a silent place with no ppl around. I opened my result, and Pengajian Am=B+, Maths=B+, Maths 1=A, Maths 2=C , physics=C+ and finally my chemistry.......... a C!!!!!! I'm so calm... I phoned my dad, telling him my result, He said he was very happy, I was so sad when I heard wat he actually said..... I should get better result if I hadn't wasted my time....................... However, at least my effort at the last minute is come to a pay.
*This fren is actually my ex scul mate, we were not very close in previous scul, however, I'm not used to the culture of this new scul tats y i hung around with him.......
My advice here: If you are going for Form 6, make sure you can handle the stress, even getting a B would be tough, constant revision, exercise are must. Adequate entertainment is ok, never2 follow my footsteps........ You will regret for the rest of your life................... And last but not least, make sure you got a good and positive fren.

Added on May 3, 2008, 10:25 pmI was actually taking all subjects including bio. I dropped bio with the reason to concentrate on my other subjects. However, Its so clear that its just an excuse.................

F6 is tough but at least you will learn much more than in matrix. I have seen the math subject in matrix. They are a lot simpler.
I my advise, if you can go through F6 with decent results, even with B's and C's only, you will have a better time in university because your basics are already good, at least in engineering courses.
