QUOTE(Ska8kidz @ Jun 25 2009, 08:58 AM) power mobile rm78? u mean the maxis broadband package that comes with only the sim card is it? the data capped at 2gb though. For lite user its fine lah i think. for heavy downloaders. definetely a no-no. since the fup is being implemented strictly, i found out that 2gb cap is too little. Subscribe to DiGi Broadband!!! Their quota is very generous and speeds are great!

Been inactive for quite a while already, burdensome work...
By the way, I guess I've been capped too... and I haven't even been using much this month, been out for the majority of every day... and now I can hardly load a single page.
Eh, mocha, mind sharing your tips and tricks here? I'm sure everybody'll benefit from it.

it's an advertisement trick. irresponsible salesman will try to confuse ppl into using that package by playing the word "unlimited", and many ppl wont be aware as cloudstrife07 pointed out the word is "access".
when they found out about the FUP, they can simply say, "its stated unlimited 'access' ma, they capped yr speed but u can still acess what"
very smart trickster, this Maxis & their marketing team...grrr....i can already foresee tonnes more of ppl jumping into our "screw Maxis" bandwidth.
the correct term for a service with no speed cap or usage quota would probably be "unlimited usage". sigh...keep hoping fellow Malaysians.

QUOTE(ibnuasad @ Jul 1 2009, 04:56 PM) If you guys read between the lines...they meant unlimited access...not unlimited usage/bandwidth true true. this unlimited access comes with a dark side. heh heh. they dont highlight which unlimited did the ad mentioned. they put it generally and confusedly confused those who like to believe in ad without proper research. at first, it kind of tingle my heart because of the word 'unlimited'. but aware of the situation, i know it too good to be true..

So Maxis 3G package has no bandwidth capping? what do i need to do in order to get that package from my current wireless advanced package?terminate and apply new one?or have some serious talk at the helpline? and, applying to that package means that i'll have to give the boring ZTE modem back to them right?

QUOTE(cloudstrife07 @ Jul 1 2009, 10:04 PM) 1. So Maxis 3G package has no bandwidth capping? 2. what do i need to do in order to get that package from my current wireless advanced package?terminate and apply new one?or have some serious talk at the helpline? 3. and, applying to that package means that i'll have to give the boring ZTE modem back to them right? 1 = Yes. 2 = Terminate & Apply or Wait for contract to finish & Apply. 3 = If you terminate before the end of contract, Yes. Please take note that Maxis3G does not offer any modems. You have to fork out an extra $200+ getting a new HSDPA modem.

Wat do u mean no bandwidth capping?? Of course there is!
After 3gb usage.. they cap your bandwidth to about 0.8mbps download, and 0.6 upload - KL area avg speed.
Unless there is an unlimited dl cap bbplan with maxis?
