QUOTE(J-Piggy @ Mar 26 2008, 12:34 AM) Even though it is LYN forum , the thread itself belongs to the clubs. As for those kiddo who posted "glory glory Man Utd" at least should get punishment, right?Deleting posts is not going to help much...The warning which disable the posting option should be given. There's nothing wrong with someone posting that in another thread other than United thread. In a matured action, either one reports that particular post with the reason "childish statement" or just shrug it off and ignore. I chose the latter. But what i see most of the time is ppl getting into arguments with those ppl fully aware of their purposes on taunting rival clubs. |

QUOTE(aboogee @ Mar 25 2008, 11:30 PM) Guys guys. C'mon, its like you guys are going on a merry-go-round and the only thing you guys are doing is making it go quicker. Agree..Let's make football lounge a better place...Look, we came this far and we have 4 pages of the thread, each and everyone of you thrashing it out and the other coming back with a counter, and its going in circles but never forward. Each and every one of you have posted in this specific thread, not because you're defending your colours, but because you love the forum and want it to be a better place. But if the mods dont read this thread, then itll be in vain. But nonetheless, J-Piggy's idea to bring it up i think is a good move, but only if everyone actually posts CONSTRUCTIVE ideas on making this a better place instead of just CRITICISING. You guys were so busy going at each others neck that you almost lost track of a good idea along the way. Sumone mentioned that each club, or at least the big 4 need a mod for their club. I think this is brilliant, because in the event of having to warn a forumer of one club, it is best done by their own "kind". This deflects any kind of potential animosity and everyone can live happily ever after. Its a brilliant idea, but one that needs to be sold to the admin of LYN. Im sure J-Piggy (Pool, i think) and Kobe (United) and Bwan (Chelsea) and even Kimhoong (Gunners) can actually sell the idea to them, since (i personally believe that) the football lounge is genuinely one of the most active threads in LYN. Why dont you guys mull over that and come up with an amicable solution instead of throwing bricks at each other. Come up with ideas please, not just criticism. No amount of progress can come out of this if this continues! Abt the Pool seniors, if you can show that this forum is decent and genuinely up for good banter between fans, im sure theyll feel welcomed on their own and theres no need to fret abt it. Although its by a long shot, but Jonno, JonC, Duke were genuine fans of football so im sure theyd find it within themselves to come back. I HIGHLY DOUBT the Pool thread will be too quiet for too long. |

QUOTE(J-Piggy @ Mar 26 2008, 12:51 AM) Yes, as I was explaining to sasuke914 that it was meant to be a warning like explained by whaker and alien. However, there's mixed up and staffs awarded a suspension of posting instead. |

Miss A step over Miss B's lawn and insult how terrible Miss B's lawn are..how disrespectful those comments are... Hence it is understandable how ppl gets into arguments instead of ignore them. |

Anyway, off to sleep.
Keep up constructive criticism instead of sole banter. i.e. heed aboogee's advise. Cheers and good night! Added on March 26, 2008, 1:02 am QUOTE(J-Piggy @ Mar 26 2008, 12:58 AM) Personally, I din see anything wrong if someone happen to be doing the former action. Yes, but since it's in my house; I can choose either to ask him to leave or call the police. I.e. the latter would be the "report" button. Or I could chose to ignore and let him speak to himself while I continue household chores. For example: Miss A and Miss B are rivals. Yup, I take this stand too. being the TS in the Chels thread, I've come across non-Chels fans posting nonsense in the thread too. and we ignore/report them. the result is they left, cos their flame-bait was to no avail. What I'm saying is it all depends on how one looks at it. Personally if no one bothers him, he's as good as jerking himself with either his right or left or even both hand. i.e. amusing himself or shall I say bore himself to death. Don't get me wrong, I welcome friendly banter and Matter-Of-Fact discussions, not POV ones. and name-calling is SO IMMATURE, so I'd ignore that too. Remember reading someone here posted about educating the noobs, which I think goes a long way to enhancing this forum too. IMO, weeding out these bad influences will also help make this forum a more educated and intelligent one. |

QUOTE(J-Piggy @ Mar 25 2008, 07:37 PM) I just read the rules and regulations that everyone of us here should follow.I do think that more rules should be enforced to prevent unnecessary flame war.Example:Today 2 newly-opened thread and Liv thread Seriously, do we even have a moderator here? Besides, I do think that even with these rules, some people tend to create another account to continue with flaming posts. For example : airmood2 and Fernando Am I the only one thinking that the moderator not doing enough to moderating the forum especially in stopping flame war and offending siggy. So, what do you guys think about it? » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Notes:Any flame baiting posts, meaningless post will be reported at once..Please carry on with a proper discussion.Thank You. And if we have, what is he doing around because all i can see is flame war all around and own thread member also cant control? So, do we really have a moderator here? We received 2 posts of stating that we're doing an OK job for this forum. We're not sure if everyone here feels the same but to those to posted those 2 replies, we thank you for it. We hardly get such posts to begin with.
Some requested 4 mods from the top four clubs in EPL to moderate this forum and that's a good idea coming from all of you. TheRipper and myself actually wanted that implementation of 4 top EPL club mods but at that time, the football forum's traffic wasn't that heavy as member base wasn't that high and LYN was still at its young age. Now its a different story. Traffic is getting very heavy in the football forum, previously this forum was very active during after office hours ... which is at night time. Now from morning, afternoon, evening, night time and wee hours in the morning members from all sorts of life and profession are either posting a reply or opening a new thread and this can be a form of news, post/pre-match taughts, player/team analysis, a flame bait, trolling, spamming and etc. Due to that, we will miss some posts while we're going through the forum's threads, that's why you hardly see me post but i'll come into any thread to inject/join discussions that are on going. On the moderator part: We have spotted a few candidates that we hope they would help us moderate this forum together and also promoting a few members to Elite status. Even if we already thier name in the list, you all are still welcome to suggest a member (or yourself) to take the moderator post (of course don't PM us "me want be mod" kinda messages.). Reason being, we want to see if the name we choose are concurrent with the name we recieved from everyone else. If there's any suggestions or comments that you don't want to post here, my inbox is always open for your PMs. For those who PMed me before, you know i'll reply to your PMs, sooner or later. Just my 2 cents. |

Its actually quite hard in terms of the forum's structural groupings on members, to allow a TS with moderator's features and yet remain a normal member in the forum. A non IT example would be like, a police cop with guns, handcuffs, radio and etc but without his ID and police badge. As it is, there's a member grouping of Moderators and any members of the forum who are added to this member grouping would have moderator features turned on as long as this member remain in the moderator member grouping. Actually, just curious though, why can't a TS of a particular club be a mod ? P/s To those who don't know what's TS mean ... its stands for Thread Starter. |

I have nothing with a TS being a moderator but you'd have to check as some of the TS's aren't as active as others. There are some TS who don't update thread titles enough or post enough, yet alone moderate.
Secondly, I don't think it's unfair simply because Serie A and La Liga threads don't gather as much volume as BPL threads. |

QUOTE Actually, just curious though, why can't a TS of a particular club be a mod ? It just to eliminate any doubt of "conflict of interest". I know that the particular mod like Alien2003 is a TS. It makes some (not all) other rival's club think that he get some benefit from it. Besides, no harm to let other club's member to be a TS as in case of MUFC, as they have many capable TS. As for the active forumer to become a mod, I have to agree with this. That's why, admin should ask him first if he's ready for the job. |
