to i780 owners..
anyone of u havd prob connecting to wifi using WPA/WPA2 security? mine can only connect to WEP security. any idea? does that mean my i780 wifi doesnt support WPA or i need to update the driver/firmware?

not sure.. but at home i can get connected using WPA at office it get connected via WEP.. not sure is it the i780 or compatability problem.. at the moment i'm using the firmware i780PDXIB1

hwy guys, what is/are ur besh mods or added apps for this phone? some say that the screen res makes some 3rd party programs unworkable

i have a few problems which i hope to have some pros to help me here
1) the phone keeps auto connecting to gprs. how to disable it?
2) how to manually connect to 3g / gprs?

after dling that software, i can still detect 3G/EDGE network right? and i will need to enable the network to use it right?

It's a decent phone. No issues so far when using it.

Well, you might say screen is smaller, but when compared to my Dopod d810 (which have no physical keyboard), it's just an inch shorter!

Although it's smaller in size (a tiny bit), but it packs more resolution than the normal 320 x 240. You will love the 600Mhz processor as well

yea bought my second hand at rm700 last month... b4 upgrading the rom the phone hangs quite frequent.. but after upgrade it to winmo6.1 it become alot alot stable.. so far no serious issues like hanging or watsoever.. great phone! luv it!

Realised that my i780 (version DXHJ1) got problem with Maxis if chose band as automatic or WCDMA (3G). Signal is weak & can't make/receive calls, send/receive MMS & connect to internet. It is all ok if I select GSM.

No problem when I use the same sim card with 3G selected on my other phone (Nokia E71). Strong signal in the same area.

Did another test with using Celcom 3G on my i780 - flawless without any problems.

All tests were conducted at the same location.

My 90% conclusion cause of problem is that Samsung i780 has problem with Maxis 3G.

Anyone else can confirm this before I opt to upgrade the firmware to the latest version?

i don't see any harm if u upgrade to the latest IB1 ROM. You can do it urself. Ensure to do proper backup of all ur data. Once flash to new ROM, everything is gone just like when you purchase the i780 way back the first day.

Can I ask how much is this phone going for right now? The other day I saw it was going for RM1099. I thought it's RM999. Also, what do the box contains (in KL)?

Just ensure you get 2 ORIGINAL Samsung batteries in the box. If not, then it's not the standard package.
