Guys, I have a problem here. Please give comment.  smile.gif

My OCed rig can run Orthos blend test for several hours without a single error but when I play game. Sometimes I get BSOD - beginning psychical memory dump. What's wrong?

well running orthos without error is not 100% will make ur gaming not crashed or get BSOD...
there's several things u might consider..
1- ur gfx driver...most likely this one
2. ur ram...timing to tight or high speed...loosen a bit
3. ur fsb to high..lower it a bit
4. ur vcore at the lowest line...maybe ur proc need more in gaming instead of orthos

with the same oc and psu? yea weird, but then it could be that your psu performance itself has dropped due to caps aging.

Or it could be the ram. I had an oc b4 that ran perfectly stable in orthos blend(12 hours), 3dmark06 (6hours) but would cause system hang while playing certain games. After investigating here n there I finally found out thru memtest86 that my ram wasnt fully stable.

Thanks for the comment .. I guess the problem is RAM now .. Orthos blend doesn't 100% stress the RAM also ..

i would suggest to run your memtest with this settings

1. Since youre running dual core, run two memtest programs simultaneously and for each of it run Total ram you have divide by 4

Totat{Ram}/4 for each memtest program till it reaches 1000%

Then confirm stable.

hmm......i find that memtest also a lil buggy, gives me errors in systems that hv proved totally stable over long long periods. Prefer the original memtest86, that u boot into straight after bios brows.gif
