the 4gb usb drive with belt design looks good.
but i'm not gonna buy it coz it looks thick.
i like my usb drive thin and small...
and the PenDrive brand of usb drive has slow transfer rate.

fuh..
looks like u have to tie up your left door to your right door with strings.

u can try taking out the door lockset and see what's the prob.
i have not encountered this before.
but i do have experienced a broken door handle on the driver's door.
i open it up and tie it with a cable-tie.

i bought a NEW local door lockset, it cost me RM150.
then i done my own DIY for the door lockset & realise ori lockset are still working well,
the problem are the plastic (WHITE) that hold the spring broken had make it slip away,
then i tie it with cable tight & wire, so it still working well.
for those who had this problem may try to fix it,
but then it took me 2 hour to take out & install it back.
not easy, but after my 1st try then i know how to fix it alrdy.
BTW i want to sell that NEW lockset parts for RM120 only,
just incase your lockset are really mal-funtion.

Hi All sifus and bro. Need some advise here.

Plan to buy 2nd hand perdana year 02/01(budget small) coz need to travel far from my house every week roughly 1500km for 2 flow. How long can this perdana tahan.

I survey 1 car (2owner) year 01/02 with milage 90k with Perak plate number all parts are original but the shop informed me the timing belt just changed. When they say the timing belt just changed do they changed all other part around the timing bell also. Is this consider major serviced/overhaul. Is this a good buy considering all stocks accessories and the final price quoted 30k.

My other question is what do I need to do to decide on the purchased and what else need to checked. And is it logical the milage is still that low.

One more question do perdana have airbag. And can we fixed the airbag to perdana.

Thank you in advanced to all commenter and sifus

For the 01/02 V6, i think RM30k is bit over price. With 90k mileage for tis 10yrs old car, do u think they never adjust the odometer? Dun judge the car condition by just looking at the odometer how much mileage they have done. Look for the service record which from the previous owner (if possible).

They mention they changed the timing belt not long ago. Receipt is not a true proof to show u when come to USED CAR DEALER. Normally when change the timing belt, all the bearing set also will b change in once. Is it consider a set when u buy the timing belt. Changing timing belt is just a normal wear & tear, not major service or overhaul.

When u wan purchase the car, try to c the body work. Accident free? Engine condition? GB reaction still good or not? Any leak for the engine or GB? All tis things need to look out carefully. If u not really expert try to bring a fren or mechanic who know to help u view the car.

Last, Perdana dun have any Airbags come with. U can try to source any1 modified or not. But i think it will cost a bomb if have.

the price is a bit high since i'm in Penang, survey around the price is almost there minimun 27k to 32k.

but when i push hard the accelerator the car kind a jerking a bit when the gear dropped is it normal. Side mirror shaky at speed 120km/h.

Well i would pay max rm 23k for 2001 v6. Coz u need to change/service lots of thing to make sure it gonna last u. My 2001 v6 is use for weekly traveling of 1100km, which in turn need to be service once in a month ( oil filter etc ).
i would check the braking, oil leaking, the gearbox, and suspension.

and my odometer is at 313k alredi..

My Father's Perdana v6 has just clocked 100 000km in 11 years today. The car is still in great condition. Many ppl complain about Perdana's gearbox, in my experience, for all the 11 years my family have been driving the car, there's not even a single gearbox problem.

Overall, this car rocks to the max smile.gif
I've also attached a picture so that you guys can see the condition of my perdana smile.gif

11 years and your car only drove 100,000km is a rarely driven car. I guess maybe it's used to just go to fetch children to and fro or maybe work to and fro. Furthermore i don't think the car's engine is really utilized as less than 9,000km per month mah. Actually the GB problem is there even in Mitsubishi days, not a Proton problem. The ATF have to be change and maintained well if not surely problems. My PV6 is as old as yours and have already clocked 250,000km hehehe. Previous owners change 2 gearboxes due to not maintaining it frequently as well as heavy usage. Now i travel about 5,000km monthly and my GB is still ok but i maintain it every 20,000km. Just my two cents smile.gif

11 year old might be rare but still , most experience GB problem at around 60k mileage. And we drive from Bukit Jalil to KL area(Ampang/Brickfields/BukitBintang/etc) everyday except sundays.
But there's a slight jerk when the gear moves from D1 to D2. Do you experience the same thing after changing the GB twice?
cheers.

i now have atf cooler installed and i change atf every 20k and atf filter every 40k. So far so good after 1 year and i whack around 4-5k km per month covering northern and east coast region. But i'm going to change my car soon not because of the problems of the pv6 but i just wanna get a new car smile.gif My advice is dun play pick up and drive like an F1 driver and you'll be ok.

As for gb jerking, that means your gb already having problem lor

v6 engine can tahan but the gb is another thing.
u may be lucky if the gb can tahan.
but since u said that the gb already jerks while shifting from gear1 to gear2.
i may be the clutch has worn out.

for me, it's better for u to change the timing belt or do a major service urself after u buy the car.
major service includes (but not limited to) timing belt, waterpump, valve seals, gaskets, spark plugs, engine oil, air filter, oil filter, fuel filter, flush radiator, power steering, gb atf change, gb filter set, brake fluid, brake pads, brake discs, throttle body service, etc...
some may be excluded if still ok..

perdana do not have airbag and cannot be fitted with an airbag.
similar eterna models also do not have airbag.

a year travel less than 10K km.
this is like a weekend car..

i'm not surprised with ur gb still working nicely.
i have 2 frens who are still using the factory gb with mileage more than 200K km..

dirty fuid is one of many problems associated with the gb going kong.
dirty filter, atf old (have lost it's qualities), overheating, clutch habis, internals broken, etc...
even faulty TCU will give symptoms of a gb kong.
