No la. driving to Penang .. 2 nites .. so maybe one nite in TuneHotel and another in better hotel lor ..

but cannot stay at pricy hotel cos family joining us, so about 6-7 persons going ... so need reasonably priced room. No $$$

I would love to try the Northam Suite with jacuzzi if only me, hubs and son going.

actually can consider gurney hotel..take their 2bedroom suite.. its RM310++ inclusive 4 breakfast..
the suite is actually quite big.. bout 900 sq feet..if family i am sure can fit all.. one king size bed plus one queen size bed n sofa ..+ there is jacuzzi overlooking the sea.. nice!

if 2 rooms x RM310++ per nite = $$$$ pokai lor cos I am paying. If we go dutch then i wont mind hahaha

oh its actually a 2 bedroom suite for RM310++ i think can fit 4-8 ppl..

but u are paying then its a bit exp ler.. i am going wif my frens so everyone pay on our own share which is less than RM100 each.

Please recommend a few good places to eat in Penang ....

2) CKT (aside from Lrg Selamat, Sisters, Ah Leng)
3) Koay Chap
4) Anything ...

"Tua Chiew Kah" - Big tree foot opposite the Penang Jetty near traffic light
2) CKT - Kopitiam opposite Grand Continental Hotel (only lunchtime)
2) Koay Chap - Hong Kong Kopitiam along Macalister Road
4) Lor Bak - End of Sri bahari road - Kafe Kheng Pin
5) Chee Cheong FUn (Prawn sauce / Heh Goe) - Macalister Lane kopitiam (breakfast)
6) Kari Mee roadside stall - Lebuh Chulia @ nite
-Lorong Seratus Tahun
7) Eefu Mee - Citra Street
8) Hokkien Mee (Prawn Mee) - Greenhouse kopitiam, Burmah Road

and so many many more...

lrg selamat pls avoid is the sohem one u stand there to queue for ur kuayteow.

strictly for tourist who like to line up for food like singapore cos they go NS also need to stand in line to get their food.

Soon Lai... is very difficult to locate.. if u r not local... so... my suggestion is better u go for the Big tree foot... near jetty.. coz its near town centre.. and also reasonable priced..

1. Tambun. Its @ mainland near juru there. if u know how to go.... (cos im from penang...)
2. donno. cos i always go lrg selamat... haha...
3. a restaurant near asam laksa air itam. opposite RHB Bank. under the tree one. look old from outside. very nice koay chap.
4. mua chi - opposite Asia Cafe near Penang hill round-about. motorbike one. got 2 sellet selling 2 type mua chi. take the one with more peanut n without the fried onion one.
5. Chee cheong Fun - Genting restaurant greenland.
6. Indian rojak - its somewhere at the roadside from the way to USM. donno the name of the place.
7. Char Kuey Kak (fried Loh Bak Gou) - restaurant outside sunway hotel.

Added on June 10, 2009, 9:05 amFYI. there is no more queue for the lrg selamat CKT cos they now own a shop n u ONLY can order when u got the table. cos they need ur table number. was bom-ed by them last time cos i order while waiting for table.

its reasonable to take order only when u got the table coz some ppl while waiting for table order first then suddenly got furious n leave ..dont want to wait any longer...reasonable mar
