i'm planing to go Penang for a trip on next year. so is there any recommanded budget hotels around the city area, near gurney plaza?

and i've oso planned to stay at lone pine hotel but the problem is they are having renovation till 1st quarter of 2010. so is there any other hotel same standard like lone pine hotel around Batu Ferringhi ?

Anyone been boating around penang? in particular the west coast of penang? Any contact for boat rental? or blog on it?

Seems like an interesting idea to rent a boat and visit the secluded spots / beaches on the west coast of penang island.

anyone tried this boat chartering before?

Waldorf hotel is within the walking distance to some of the famous eating places in penang road.
Well known only to the local, it is located opposite a blue mansion tourist site which is smack right in the middle of the town itself.
Around the area is upper penang road, line clear nasi kandar, late nite bak mooi and beef noodles.

Hotel Continental vs Hotel Malaysia vs Tune Hotels Penang ....

which is better and value for money?

Read not so good reviews for Hotel Continental so i am a bit skeptical. Hotel Malaysia has okay reviews from this thread while Tune Hotel is pretty much basic but cheap lor.

Am wondering if parking easy?

Feedback please anyone ...... thanks

no need to restrict urself to penang st one. take taxi reach edi, georgetown so small.
remember to ask for a NONSMOKING floor.

despite b-man's warnings i will book Northam Deluxe suite for my visit in a few weeks time.

prefer comfy lodging in a not too busy area.
