northam is not bad. i stayed in their president suite before. its awesome. since u have the car, so even the foodcourt is further down, i think its not the problem for u. im sure u wont eat at the same place for 3 days. penang is famous for certain foods in certain places.

evergreen is a bit old n cant comment on the facilities as i never stayed in this hotel. gurney is ok as well. if u like night life, eg pub. then gurney hotel is the best choice. G hotel is the newest hotel @ gurney drive. n because its near to gurney plaza, its an added advatage. however, i think the hotels @ gurney drive have their own pros and cons and almost the same. so compare the price before making decision. distance is not a problem for u since u have a car.

i also suggest Sunway hotel because of its strategic location. located in the city, easy access to food in the morning n nite. especially nite foods. cant forget it. u must try the fried "lo bak gou" just outside the sunway hotel. its superb.

suddenly miss penang food so much. will eat as much as possible end of this month as a have a week break!!!!

1. Tambun. Its @ mainland near juru there. if u know how to go.... (cos im from penang...)
2. donno. cos i always go lrg selamat... haha...
3. a restaurant near asam laksa air itam. opposite RHB Bank. under the tree one. look old from outside. very nice koay chap.
4. mua chi - opposite Asia Cafe near Penang hill round-about. motorbike one. got 2 sellet selling 2 type mua chi. take the one with more peanut n without the fried onion one.
5. Chee cheong Fun - Genting restaurant greenland.
6. Indian rojak - its somewhere at the roadside from the way to USM. donno the name of the place.
7. Char Kuey Kak (fried Loh Bak Gou) - restaurant outside sunway hotel.

Added on June 10, 2009, 9:05 amFYI. there is no more queue for the lrg selamat CKT cos they now own a shop n u ONLY can order when u got the table. cos they need ur table number. was bom-ed by them last time cos i order while waiting for table.
