we're planning to hit the eateries and clubs more rather than going to the beach.. the beach is for another day, another location, lol.

It's not totally out of question, but we need to know roughly how much would renting a car or two will cost first. That's where the bulk of our budget is going to atm. (I <3 airasia promos!)

St.Paul: Err, my budget is anything lower than RM50/person for 3 nights? Lol, I know, that's extremely low, but Tunes has that price now, and I don't care that it's frills-free.

Thanks for your recommendation, shall go there when I've more money.. tongue.gif

Putraskyline: I actually HAVE gone to those threads before opening this, and if you didn't realise,
http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=645573&hl=penang is all about where to go in Penang.

I did a search in that thread about my questions, and there were no answers at all on renting cars. There were many people asking, but no one gave them an answer other than "don't rent la" or "I don't know".

Also, that thread is full of info of where to go or eat. I think if I posed my questions there, it'll be so totally out of that topic.

As for http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=633709&hl=, again, yes I've been there before, but that question was too general for me. As it's obvious I will be renting a car when I'm there, of course I will want a place that provides parking. Also, I specifically asked whether Tunes is the best place that's IN the city, not just ON the island.

I realised that you did the same thing to a few other threads (putting the links and then closing them.. I'm assuming you closed them, and mine too). Some would do very well to have done a search first, but for some others, they were totally on a different topic!

Please read and understand the topics carefully next time. Just because it's about Penang it doesn't mean it's about the same thing.

Bro, you joking ah? for that price, you better go for tune hotels , otherwise it's a backpackers hostel along penang road - and no parking.

other option is to camp by the sea - unlimited parking brows.gif

TS,

I'm the one closing the thread after putraskline mentioned the link. This is for you to continue posting either of the 2 threads which I will be merging soon together wth this one.

Yes probably both threads also dun hv any car rental info & nobody knows as there are hardly any budget car rental in Penang & whole of M'sia ecxcept Langkawi!!..Try this link (Via googling as usual) for list of Car rental, otherwise, sometime certain ppl do advertised their private rental service at the stars classified too...(Cheaper than established car rental but probably no insurance coverage & license)

http://www.mycen.com.my/malaysia/car_rental.html

But u still can continue posting in the 2 existing threads rather than opening a new one....Imaging having 10 Penang threads in one forum rclxub.gif biggrin.gif

Merging this within 1hr! biggrin.gif

So if the topic was different, why you need another redundant thread rather than continue posting there for more info to be shared? If your spoonfed answer was not there, just ask in that thread. It was nice rather that open new topic and I believe you are not reading on Penang thread. You are such lazy brat.

The beach is public property, if I'm not mistaken, 220ft from the high tide mark. you can even camp infront of hotels, though I presume they will give you some trouble. There are many other beaches near batu ferigghi which have no hotels. only problem is toilet and fresh water...

Just came back from Penang..Stayed at Berjaya.. Taxi no meter..Dont like it..But the food's okay, especially cendol and Char Kuey Teow at Penang Road..Went to the Toy Museum..Took lots of pics..Overall not bad la just that the transportation system needs to improve..Its just like Singapore with the people speaking Hokkien and rich ppl with rich houses..Difference is with the public transportation and food..haha

For my personal preferance, Shangrila is the best Hotel i every stayed in Penang. They offer good food also, especially the Spice Market Cafe. Wohoo! drool.gif

Owh, if not mistaken, recently they(Spice Market Cafe) are providing mother's day buffet, the food looks nice.
