yeah sometimes if there are neigbours using wifi, the channels might overlap and disturb each others signal/throughput

What I did was change the channel, disable WAP key and set "Broadcast SSID" to Off

will my connection be totally undetectable when I off SSID broadcast?

alhough it is not 100% secure, i'd suggest you to get at least MAC filtering done. it is better than naked unsecured access point with only ssid turned off

^^
if I use MAC filtering then I'd have to put in the MAC addresses for all the devices which I plan to connect with rite?

yes. but if it feels too much hassle for you, just leave it like that. unless if you dont want your neighbours to piggyback on your connection. by studying network packet dumps, unauthorised user can still get the list of allowed MAC addresses. still, it is better than nothing. at least to me.

Hi guys,

as promised, here are the pics.. I wasn't sure of what to take, so I took a couple of shots of my current settings.

Again, my router is a Belkin N1 which is roughly 25ft away (in my room behind closed doors) from the PS3.

I've disabled the "SSID Broadcast" and not using any WPA Key. However, I'm using MAC address filtering. So that "unauthorized" devices won't be able to leech my connection.

So, when you setup the connection on the PS3, you'd have to type in your SSID manually because the PS3 won't be able to detect your router since you turned "SSID Broadcast" OFF. Bare in mind that the SSID is case sensitive. After that just follow the on-screen instructions.

That is basically much it.

p1 modem itself is a modem+router. all you need is a network switch.

if yours has the portforward/dmz/dhcp setting like in the post, it is a router.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Network_switch normally very cheap.
