hi bros, i need to ask about something .... i am currently using the default unifi router, DIR-615 if i am not mistaken, its under NAT-2, i have tried DMZ, port forwarding and also using google DNS in the router.... my laptop runs fine wireless, ping is low, while when i use my PS3 around the same place from my room, my pingtest is SUPER high around 160 ... i just wanna ask if there a solution for this of do i have go get a new router ... if i get a new router what should i get? i have even tried connect with wired and the ping still sucks... any solution cos i really wanna play online!

I have looked at the latest ASUS modem-router with N-band capability, and looks interesting. Anyone is currently using it now? Is it compatible with PS3, and hows the connection's performance?

Any other alternatives perhaps? I am currently using old-school aztech, and despite it being 'cheap', it serves me well. I am just looking for ways to upgrade the internet connection capabilities once Unifi is installed.

If I change my stupid RIGER DB108-WL model to a new one, can it fix my NAT 3 problem?

sup guys, so currently what is the best modem+router combo that is best for PS3? hope i'm asking in the right section.

currently i'm using the old streamyx ADSL innacomm w3100 modem+router combo, i cant get above NAT Type 3 since several months ago. then i try, port forward, enabling upnp, dmz, +-MTU. none of these increase my PS3 NAT Type.

after a lot of browsing on the internet, they say bridge mode on the particular modem could did it. so, i bridged my innacomm modem and use a dlink DIR-615 as my router (my bro-in-law give it to me since he's not using it anymore), basically the innacomm modem is in bridge mode and the dlink router did the PPPOE thingy. but the same thing happen..i did port forward, enabling/disabling upnp, dmz, +-MTU on dlink, yet the result still the same.

i'm not sure whether the problem is on my lame innacomm w3100 modem (probably the bridge mode is not even working the way it says) or my dlink router, if any shifu know how to fix this, please let me know..appreciate it!

so i'm very tired of this and thought that i should change to a new modem+router combo or modem and router combination, any1 could recommend a good model which u already use on PS3 and could get a NAT Type above 2? if possible a modem+router combo model..thanks!

full recommendation on ASUS router. Now playing games especially COD:MW3 + download torrent, no DC at all. But need to update to the latest firmware first.

Now left only one choice,Direct connect the network cABLE TO PS3 and connect using pppoe with PS3.

Is it going to work? Im using streamyx riger DB102.

Im having IP fragment problem too. I'm using Astro IPTV and it uses Maxis Technicolor TG784n v3 router. I can connect my PS3 to the internet but it says I'm having IP Fragments and may affect my online gaming. Its NAT type automatically Type 3. I've googled around and I need to make it Type 2 by making the router Open Nat or change its MTU. How do I make the NAT Type 2 on my router? Sorry, I'm not an IT guy.

Anyone knows how?

as i'm one of Maxis HOME fibre user, i did it as below

contact maxis, change from private ip to public ip ... they will guide on how to do it on the phone.

once change to public ip, you will get NAT Type 2 connection

check this thread https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/2753713

Thank you so much!!! I've been spending few hours googling the solution and non works. Just called Astro IPTV (can't call direct to Maxis, has to go through Astro first) and Maxis Technician will call me back within 24hours. TQ and hope it solve my problem laugh.gif

I think my IPCam can't connect also due to this Public IP thing...
