QUOTE(koonfoon @ Feb 1 2009, 02:01 PM) I am using Linksys router..never used Riger router before...so unless I have a closer look at the configuration page...i couldn't tell what exactly wrong with your setting Hi KoonFoon,Did u set your PS3 to static IP?? ( U need to have a static IP for port forwarding) And did u set your PS3 static IP out the range of auto assign IP (DHCP) of your router?? (router will re-assign difference IP to your PC and PS3 when power OFF and ON again...but usually they have range... example: 192.168.1.2 to 192.168.1.50....... if that the case...set your PS3 static IP out the range of auto-assign IP). Hope this will help still not able to change the NAT type to 2... here are some picture of my setting...hope it can give you some ideas... thanks anyway. |

QUOTE(Coconut @ Dec 12 2008, 09:42 PM) I am also facing the same problem. Previously using streamyx and get nat2, played cod4 without any problem. Today just changed to wimax and get nat3, cod4 stuck at downloading game settings forever. Any solution to change back to nat2? Bro, I don't think it's your router's problem. If I'm not mistaken WiMAX have set the NAT to be NAT3. I read somewhere that there's no way to change it. WiMAX is a no go for gamers.Correct me if I'm wrong..... |

some games are less picky about nat type and some really require at least nat2. it depends on your luck
wimax is ok in latency and is quite comparable to adsl. it is different than umts & those hsdpa standards. |

QUOTE(crower75 @ Feb 4 2009, 11:06 AM) vorchiel, what's why i said it depends on the games. some games require nat2 to host a game, and some require nat2 to be able to play a game. panda-chan is on amax's wimax and he is under NAT3. luckily LBP and BOP are not picky and he can play that game normally (and even host a game in LBP).thanks for yer feedback...about the claims that people managed to get NAT1 via a router, well yesterday I went to a game shop which hooked up its PS3 to WiMAX modem via netgear router (dunno which model) and could play Resistence 2 online ... making me confused huhu during my uni days, i couldnt play cod4 online even though my connection is NAT2. that is because my uni firewall blocked the port used by cod4 to connect to servers. they wont open up the port even after i sent them the official guide from IW to say that the port is legit for cod4 and not for some random p2p app. iirc MGO players with NAT3 cant host the game. i dont know about resistance 2 because i dont have that game. |

NAT2 user here
Host and Join Resistance2 games ..no prob.. and other as well..some times it's not the connecting that causes the problem but the PS3 server itself whenever i can't connect to PSN and I can play COD4 multiplayer smoothly via PC |
