Budget ?? hmmm.. within RM 2 - 4k for the front & centre speakers only..

most probably i will get the Onix bookshelf range RM1,100 a pair and RM1,200 for the center
to pair with yammy 1900, 3800, 3900 or denon 2809

have auditioned it just yesterday and compared the onix bookshelf with the onix floorstander est RM10k plus, on stereo mode with onix integrated and
onix CD

well the bookshelf perform really well as compared to the floorstander

but when paired with denon 1909 on stereo mode, the highs are rough and etch, but using the DSP prologic IIx mode it gave a very relaxing atmosphere.

Hi Yamah lovers, I am planning of getting the RXV463. I was quoted RM 12xx.. is that a good price? Where is a good place to get Yamaha AVR in Penang?

btw, 463 does support audio over HDMI right?

Thanks!

Try the PSB T55 (floorstanding front) and C40 (center). Together probably 3.5k.

Or Klipsch RF-52 (floorstanding front) and RC-52 (center). PM htkaki for the price, but I think would be within 4k.

I would go with the Klipsch instead of the Image, You just can't go wrong with the center, and I'm loving it.
As for the Fronts, I would go with the RF62 instead. Well that's for me of cause.

Give it an audition, I think you'll probably make the decision easier.

It's always normal la .. once you get the thighs you wanna go deeper and find you if that's what you're missing.
I would probably get myself the 62, later on. (budget lorh, but if i had the 62 next upgrade would be a bomb, "man man lai")
*these 52 are pretty adequate already even for music listening, for it's price range I'd say it's worth every penny spent.

jchong, how's your ht room? manage to play around with room acoustics yet?
It's pretty awesome if you get it right. Part of an upgrade and tweaks.

Im getting Yammy RX-665 with PSB Image T45 + C60, issit a good combination, cuz Im goin for medium range setup due to budget constraint. For sub, I might get the much talk about velodyne. Kindly advice.

Hah, I understand what u mean. Buy something now, then soon after wishing for something better smile.gif

Haven't had much progress for my room acoustic treatment. I think it sounds ok as it is now, but then I've not heard a properly treated room so I don't have a frame of reference. This acoustics thing really pening... I wish there was some kind of Idiot's Guide to Acoustics I can learn from...

If it sounds ok then just leave it be, once you manage to tweak a little and make it sound a little bit better then ... THERE COMES THE ITCH ... I've stayed away from this for all most half a year and barely on my AMP, up until recent .. I wonder who started me back up all itching and ended up pockets dry.

I think htkaki is working on his room treatment, haven't heard of his progress yet so far. he can turn Idiot's Guide to Acoustics into "basic handbook of HT and Poison for YOU! rclxms.gif "

PSBs are good value for money speakers. Have you gone to hear them? A&L has both Yammy and PSB so ask them to pair it together and demo. That's the best way to know if you like them.

Yeah, i think the price quoted is affordable, i remembered the selling price used to be 1700, you can try ask in Penang Hi-Fi Choice, RX-V463 does support both audio n video over HDMI connection, i m also considering either RX-V465 or RX-V463.

1) I have a Yammy RX1800. Everytime I on it I have to go to the manual setup to get PLX. Anyway to lock it in?

2) I read some good reports on the 3900. Some of the dealers do not have it in stock. Any idea how much is it

Don't have the answer of the 1st question, sorry.

For 3900, I think I was told about RM5.5K if I remember correctly...
