I'm just curious, how much is the RXV-1900 going for currently and where would be a good place to shop for Yammy receivers? (besides Legend biggrin.gif ;-) )

I might as well ask this too : I'm currently using a 663. If I upgrade to a 1900, what sort of "difference" can I expect considering all the rest of the components remain the same. Before u ask, I don't have nice speakers, its just some JBL HTiB speakers which I also intend to upgrade.

Some of the forums that I've been reading says the 1900 is supposed to sound better "musically".. what exactly does that mean? More pleasant sounding? tongue.gif
Thx!

I second that. go get yourself better speakers first before the 1900.
I don't see how it can sound better with your htib speakers.

^ ok ok all. I already told u guys I know buying 1900 wont make my system sounds better. I know my speakers are the limiting factor.

I guess my upgrade path will be like this ..LOL
1) Panny BDP-60 (if all goes well, will get this Thursday)
2) AV rack (my TV now sits on a table..duh)
3) Speakers
4) RXV-1900? ;-)

Thanks guys and htkaki for the price of 1900

arremie : I'm too used to Yamaha la (have been using Yamaha for more than 10 years already) Malas wanna change to Malaz. LOL.

^ Aiyo, that's a different analogy mah. Then again, if u don't eat chicken, what's left to eat? Not that many choices you know. Imagine eating Big Mac everytime u visit McD. Sian right?
If malaz, what model would u recommend?
Ah, I see u have the marantz SR6003. So if I ask u why marantz SR6003 and NOT 1900, what would be your answers? ;-)

well my reason i go with 6003 instead of 1900....

- 6003 power didnt drop that much from the rated 100w per channel when all 7 channels utilized. 1900 drop dead in this
- after listening how sweet 5003 sounded with my klipsch i bet 6003 will do the same or better....and it does
- price...6003 much cheaper in fact they are in same class
- reviews from users in avs forum prefer 6003 over 1900
- wanna try double cheese instead of big mac laugh.gif

With RM5k I'd suggest finding a used Velodyne CHT-12R for around RM2k, the balance RM3k can get PSB Image B25 for the fronts, Image B15 for the surrounds and one of the Image centers rclxms.gif

Can get the PSB Image series with that kind of budget. Towers or bookshelves for the fronts, your choice. Also can get the Acoustic Energy Aegis Neo series if you're looking towards the lower end of that budget range hmm.gif
