Questions about connections;

1. Yammy DVDS1700 > RXV1800
How should I connect them? I'm currently using Coaxial from my DVD to my AVR DVD Coaxial.
I noticed that My DVD Player has got MultiChannel Out Front/L/R/SurL&R/Sub
Should I connect them that way or better just get a HDMI Cable.

2. RXV1800 > 29" Normal TV w/o HDMI but got Component.
Now I'm just running Video out from my DVD to my tv.
What will be the best to connect them? Component to DVD then another Component from AVR to TV?

Or Should I HDMI From DVD to AVR then Component from AVR to TV? then what does the multi channel audio outs are for???

When setting up YPAO yesterday I got warning 3. read thru .. don't understand at all ... but haven't really tried fully .. just wondering about the connections.

1)hdmi easier
2)http://www.lyberty.com/encyc/articles/svideo.html.. for me i would use dvd(hdmi)---->avr(component)----->tv.. if u like a lot of cables then u can use the multi channel audio outs ehehe.. j/k .. just ignore the multi channel thingy

anyway i am a noob too maybe some sifus can help out with better suggestions

Yes u can. Just make sure video conversion option is turn ON.

I prefer direct connection without going thru amp if I don't use HDMI. In this case...
DVDP--->coaxial--->amp (for audio)
DVDP--->component--->TV (for video)

Use ur Yammy composit/s-cable out to one of ur Tv av-input to see the Yammy sys screen, do the adjustment, u can leave it connected or disconnect after the adjustment. Use ur TV component in from DVD to watch video. Use dvd optical/digital to Yammy avr for audio. Well that is my set-up. Hope this help.
