Need help, anyone one here uses Yamaha Z11? Do you have or know where to find the TV codes for the remote control for other brands. The manual that came wit6h it has all the codes except for TV, must be misprint. I'm able to program the remote to control my DVD, DVR and VCR( ) except TV as it's not printed at the back of the manual for TV codes. Just hope someone here has the codes before I email the manufacturer.

I noticed with astro upscaled(up conversion) has very slight difference, am using S Video in and HDMI out to the TV, to be precise, picture looks softer.

First off let me admit I'm not that Audio savvy , I bought it becoz it was a really good buy. I'll just talk about it more in the "Bluray" forum as there's where I usually hang out.

Hehe, actually the setup is in my living room which I spend most of the time in ( about 900sf).  Thats why I've been eyeing this amp since it was launched but was too expensive here.
Only thing is I only have enough speakers and sub for a 9.2 setup instead of the full 11.2.  Another thing is playing PS3 games on this setup is really super nice.

Hard to compare unless you compare side by side in the same setup. For my peasant ears not much difference. In Malaysia, I think 663 is a better value for money. If you willing to go down south, then get the 606 like me.

yamaha has weak amp section, connect to one channel is ok. try connecting to 5 or 7 - habis

Not many movies support 7 channels so not a big issue actually. Secondly, I'm sure you don't use a full 55 watts/channel in your living room. Last time, my old junk NAD stereo amp with 35 watts/channel also enuff to fill up a medium large sized hall.

Depending on size. Mine is Draper. Abt RM780 for 92".

Full HD pj is in the range of RM10 - RM12K.  For HD65, what I can say is the best value for money for peasants like us, who dream of big screen but with budget constraint. I think rx330, kiam and megatron007 will agree on this 

For better pj, Infocus Play Big IN81 is outstanding! But very pricey

Questions about connections;

1. Yammy DVDS1700 > RXV1800
How should I connect them? I'm currently using Coaxial from my DVD to my AVR DVD Coaxial.
I noticed that My DVD Player has got MultiChannel Out Front/L/R/SurL&R/Sub
Should I connect them that way or better just get a HDMI Cable.

2. RXV1800 > 29" Normal TV w/o HDMI but got Component.
Now I'm just running Video out from my DVD to my tv.
What will be the best to connect them? Component to DVD then another Component from AVR to TV?

Or Should I HDMI From DVD to AVR then Component from AVR to TV? then what does the multi channel audio outs are for???

When setting up YPAO yesterday I got warning 3. read thru .. don't understand at all ... but haven't really tried fully .. just wondering about the connections.

ok some one from other thread told us using AVR will block your home theater from performing and told me that power from the main switch is the best to use... can someone explain??

htkaki..i still dun get how come ur max volume fr music listening is -33, cos it's quite low volume for me at this lvl, ur speaker must be quite powerful i think.. ...last time my pioneer vsx517 at -30db is consider loud and was my max volume alrd, anything below that is too loud..but now for comfortable listening i had to turn up to at least -18db which i am quite confuse..i tot the -db level on avrs are standard..
