so, i just play racing sim, not into not sim game...

so is momo + shift + TC off?

cause i really wanna feel cruising in a lambo... brows.gif

i dunno bout shift, but other NFS series w/ cops...x that fun cos u need to 'really' cruising w/o speeding, not to mentioned having zero heat level
if u wanna cruise, play games like TDU
cops won't chase u until u hit traffic twice or the cop cruiser itself
not to mention the nice road and quite realistic traffic(bz-er in town, less bz on highway) thumbup.gif
n yeah, i might get G25 jz 4 this kind of game...jz to hv the clutch brows.gif

Got an Xbox360 Wireless Racing Wheel for the upcoming Forza Motorsports 3. The force feedback is insanely hard to get used to.

Will be getting a Driving Force GT for GT5 when it comes out.

depends on game i must say
if that game got good physics engine...yeah y not

i personally bought MOMO not because i wanna feel how real it is to drive supercars w/ sth other than keyboard
instead i bought it to be in complete control of proper amount of throttle, brake and wheel turning, which is crucial in sim games because u need to balance between going fast n not burning too much rubber

in games like the NFS series, the traction control is damn not logic 1...thus, many won't feel much diff between using keyboard n wheel, which leads to the fact that "NFS series so lame when play w/ wheel" bla3
but when u put aside the TC thingy, i can say all games is syiok 1 haha

*
One BIG BIG reason why it turns me off, but it's a game after all not a sim racing. smile.gif

again i can't answer u s i dun own a supercar cry.gif
turn off the driving aids n drive a Saleen S7R w/ modded engine(1000bhp) flex.gif
how much power is that?u can do a burnout at 5th gear which tops at 340+kph
now that much power is pretty much useless if using keyboard
this is where the wheel will shine icon_rolleyes.gif

but then again, u said only wanna cruise on a lambo rite?
so wheelspin n powerslide is out of question...so should be close to real
especially the clutch rclxm9.gif
but then again, lambo no need clutch in that game sweat.gif

guys, G27 is around RM1.3k IINM
check out IDEALTECH(yongkeen or zhenwei)

IMHO, u can never get a feel of driving a simulated car if u have auto blip, auto lift and bad or non-existant of clutch modelling.

In rfactor u can turn auto lift and blip off, but the clutch modelling is very bad. Same with iRacing tho. LFS have the best clutch modelling around, including the ability to simulate clutch kick.

Forza 3 looks to have a breakthrough in clutch simulation. U cant engage full gear unless u apply full clutch. Gotta have this.

Even if a sim car has been modelled to perfection (like iRacing's) it can never come close to driving the real thing. For us mortals who can only afford FFB wheels, the feelings are just on our hands. And for those who can afford something like force dynamics simulation seat, it still lacks of the g-force which is the big piece of the puzzle in giving a driver the driving cue.

Imagine urself being subjected to g-force in real life racing, then being presented with ffb wheels and iRacing to tell how close it is to real life. I dunno how it feels but i think its gonna be funny. I think the closest thing they can say is how the modelled tracks are close to real life...the layouts, the bumps and dive, elevations. Although drivers like Justin Wilson and Dale Earnhart Jr. do iRacing and endorse it, the part where they point out abt the lack of feel has been kept away fr the masses. Another point maybe they understand what the limitation of simracing and the goals that its trying to achieve.

So if ure a hotshot simracer, dont start to think that u can do as good as u are in real life because its a totally different game. Although I already see alot of ppl driving on our roads nowadays as if they are playing NFS Shift. sweat.gif

i think the main purpose of F1 simulator is to learn the layout of a track for the driver and test basic wings, tyre setups and engine mappings. When they get on track, its easier for them to setup the car based on the real track condition. Simulation (teams like red bull uses rFactor, modified by their engineers) lacks the ability to simulate wind force and direction, variable track temps (amongst others).

Especially used for new car, new tracks or new driver.

That can be simulated with ffb with careful combination of realfeel and leoffb plugin for rfactor. iRacing does a superb job simulating it too. But that being ffb, u can just feel it in ur hands. Ur body feels nothing. If u slide out with a real car, u can feel it on ur pants and really give a good cue in how to react.
